Oh Wendall that is fantastic!! He/she is soooo cute! Is that from a Tilda book? I cant believe its your first sewing project - you must have a natural talent for it cause its brill!!
    :T

p.s I love your 'cakes' as well. If you want to post the pic on here rather than a link just right mouse click on your photo from Flikr and hit copy url then post the URL into insert image box on here (one that looks like a postcard)

    That's great Wendall! :j

Thanks for the picture posting info, Pootleflump, I don't know how to do it either. Not that I've got anything to post though. The sewing machine is now oiled but I've still not got around to trying to thread it yet - been making soup, marmalade, bread and yoghurt today instead, along with washing my car. Maybe tonight ;)

    Evening all

I have cut out my Grandson's hoody and have pinned some of it ready to sew. Forgot to take the right colour thread up with me though and couldnt be bothered to go back up once I came down as it was getting late. Need to buy a zip next time I am in town.

The quilt is coming on well, I have done the middle part and one end so just the other end to do.

Love the teddy Wendall, well done xx
  • Hi Pootleflump,

Just a quick message to thank you for yours - I've had a look at the sewing forum which looks great, so will try a post there too.

Thanks too for the links - as we're not sure the machine even works I'd rather not buy the manual just yet, if I can find someone local who has a manual we could p/copy that would be great, just in case the machine is broken!

    Many thx!

I'm decorating my Darling Daughters room (first bedroom) and I have made some bunting out of lilac gingham and plain polycotton. I'm halfway through making a small fabric storage bin. Wondering what else I can make. Was going to cover some cheap cushions. And I have some cream fleece blankets that I think will look nice if I sew fabric to one side for some throws. But what else? Any ideas?

I also have a lot of pink organza (dress fabric) to play with (friend passed it on from another friend who makes wedding gowns). Apart from some lovely tutu's, ideas?

Nykied, that hat is lovely! I'll be trying that too :D

hi dont know if this is any help but for my dd new room i did roman blinds out of a duvet set, then i made a cushion from the left over fabric and a lavender heart quilted to hang on her bathroom door.

i also made a storage hamper/bin from fabric i recovered her headboard in.

i have also done bunting but i didnt like it in her room so may have to put it in the craft room.

all photos on my blog link under my name on left
