im going to ask a silly question now but what do you put in the quilts? i would love to try making one. made my mum a cover for her hot water bottle yesterday from an old pyjama top also have the matching bottoms so i was thinking of making her a pj case to go with it.

    Hi jemtom :D
I have made some basic patchwork quilts and have used 2oz and 4oz wadding I brought off ebay. You can buy it by the meter or pre-measured sizes.
The 2oz is very light and ideal for a sofa throw but still cosy to throw over your legs on a cold night :) my bed one is 4oz. I have picks on my homepage if you want to have a look :)
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

Not really sewing, but I've repurposed cotton from bedding and curtains for these projects

    Hi everyone :D
Ive just called in to show you all my glasses case I have made :) this is a test run one as I wanted to make it with my newspaper fabric but wasn't sure if it would work but it's turned out ok :D

I used a cotton tea-towel for the outer fabric and part of an old sheet for the lining :Dl
I can never get the pic's right on here :( they turn out huge or this size :(

    Thanks gingababe.

The blue one is like this on the other side

    100_6980.jpg

The other one is the same on both sides

    100_6983.jpg

They aren't really difficult, just fiddly and time consuming. Bet you could make one if you tried.

They are amazing! I would not have the patience for something like that.

I made a start on my bunting today I am so proud because they are actually triangles lol but now wondering if inside do I need to like stick the front and back together somehow or will ironing flatten them enough to look less full of air? I am not adding the bias yet because the one I had was too narrow so I ordered some thicker stuff.

I'm after an embroidered anchor to sew on a bag I'm making for my grandaughter. It needs to be about 4 - 6 inches high. Has anyone got any suggestions where I could get one one please? I'm in Surrey if that helps, or are there any online retailers that might have one please. I've looked on ebay but can't see anything - maybe I need to put a different phrase in the search.

    TIA
