Does anybody know where I can find free patterns for making a pirate costume for an adult female (me!)? Or a pattern for one of those frilly skirts that you put netting under? I'm going on a hen do in May and it's going to be an expensive weekend, so trying to cut down on the cost for the fancy dress outfit for me and a friend.

Morning everyone-hope you all had a lovely week end.

Last night I discovered a load of fabric in DS1's cupboard. Some I used as a round tablecloth in an old furnished flat we used to live in-red and white check. Also some burgandy cotton that I had draped over an old sofa...can you tell we're moving up in the world;)

I spent this week end doing a cake for a two year old so no sewing done. But we spent yesterday out in London and I used the green and blue bag...trouble is I really liked using it so Im going to have to make another.I do have to find some order in my house though before I get onto any more.

I did get 6 purses cut out and 3 made up :D just waiting for my frames to come from ebay so I can finish them.
I am going to make some reading glasses cases with the newspaper fabic today ready for the stall, I think they will go well (I hope so anyway :rotfl:).

Not really sewing, but I've repurposed cotton from bedding and curtains for these projects

The first one is 6" and the second 3" so quite fiddly.

Cuddles123 those are really pretty, are they pin cusions? In fact loads of fantastic ideas here, going to have to dust my sewing machine off and get my butt into gear again, bought it last january and made a few things then disaster struck...my cat ate the cotton off the reel on the machine and £1500 vet bill later....haven't had the heart to use it since, but 12 months on the cat is ok and I've just about got over the shock that I will be paying my Visa bill off for a few more months to come lol.

Hi mystkate - oops about your cat. Sounds a bit like my daughters cat - always at the vets and costs a fortune. Degloved his tail last year.

Those ^^^^ are just decorations. Made with polystyrene balls.
