Just thinking the same! I could be so tempted. Can seeDGD in some little dresses out of these fabrics! But I promised myself that I would make a dent in my stash first!.
I made a teacosy today. Just a quick sew, as I hadnt sewn in a while, and BF wanted one for his new teapot.!
Need to load picture onto host site first!
What link are we talking about? It seems I have a lot to learn:p0 -
Evening all,
I got round to making my own labels for when I make things last night - it was more of a trial run and I need to do some handmade with love ones - can't think of the wording I want though - any advice/ thoughts would be gratefully received..
Evening! How'd you make those, if you don't mind me asking?0 -

nykied, if you hop on over to my homepage there are some very basic instructions. I haven't tried washing them yet - could be when it all goes wrong....
Well I managed to buy 45 meters of elastic, 10 magnetic clasps (for handbags) and 30 zips before I even left for work this morning - impulse ebay buying over breakfast should maybe not become a habit!!
Oops update - add 25 meters of silver ric rak to the mix - really need to get sewing0 -
SNAP! took me most of yesterday - about an hour of it was trying to work out how to attach the top piece! in desperation i searched buttercup bag on you tube and somebody had done a video tutorial! thank god!
Now i know I hope the rest will come together easier! I managed to get a dress pattern for 50p today in a CS, does anybody know the best place for dress fabrics?
I cant wait for car boots to start up again so i can rummage around for things to alter and rip off buttons etc to start getting a stash!
Thanks
P x
I have a Fabricland nearby and they are cheap if you can see a fabric that you like. I know they do mail order and I think that earlier posts have details.

Can someone give me some advice, Mooloo just gave me some food for thought about the dresses. I would like to make a couple for my dd. Is a metre of fabric enough for a summer dress size around 18 months? Or do I need to order more of each? I know it will vary with the pattern just looking for a guide.0

Hi fruit-loopI should think 1 metre should be ok for a simple summer dress for your DD
I started making one for my DGD last summer, I cut up a duvet cover, it was pale pink one side and dark pink the other and I only used half of it (DGD is 5yrs old). I must get is finished lol, Im lucky I cut the pattern for a 5yr old so it should fit her still :rotfl:Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

I can get two little shirred summer dresses for my 17 month DD out of 1mt. And she is... well I'm making them for the summer so they need to be a bit wider! :rotfl:

Thanks - I'm sure I have some transfer paper somewhere. It may well be at my parents' house though, which is 80 miles away :mad:0
