    Hi all

    Thanks for the kind comments.

nykied you will be surprised just how much you can make from one jellyroll. There are some lovely ideas on the moda bakeshop website.

    tiamai_d try these

    http://www.raystitch.co.uk/fabric/fat-quarter-bundles.html
    http://www.jackiesfabrics.co.uk/store/index.php?cPath=31_49
    http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/Pre_Cut_Fabric_Packs.html
    http://www.sewmehappy.co.uk/

There are so many on the net if you google

The Moda bakeshop is what got me all OCD about jelly rolls :)

I've added all those sites to my favourites as well.

Just been into Harrogate and got lots of FQs for £1.50 each and lots of fleece. Gosh, I'm going to be busy!

    Quick word of warning.

Just had a right old time trying to do a bit of sewing. Last time I used my machine it was to sew fleece.
I've had to spend ages getting rid of fluff and lint around the shuttle and in the feed dogs. It was stitching very crookedly.

Be aware that you need to clean your machine after sewing fleece!

Thanks Justamum. I used this pattern.

I thought it looked familiar - I printed off that pattern ages ago, but haven't got round to making it yet (amongst the many, many things I would like to make) Was it easy to do?

Thanks for the warning - I'll make sure I clean after using my fleece. I wouldn't have thought of that, so thanks again :D

Bit time consuming cutting out all the pieces but not difficult. I stupidly used heavyweight interfacing on all my pieces instead of just the inside main piece which made it really difficult to turn right sides out but apart from that it was fine. I know what you mean about having too many things you want to do. I have lists of stuff I want to try but end up not doing any of them as I cant make my mind up. :)

I always scoot the inside and feed dogs of mine with an air cannister after using either polyester wadding or fleece.

If you copy the image url from tinypic then press the yellow box (insert image)at the top of your post (the one that looks like a postcard) then paste the link into there it should work.
  • Thanks PootleFlump, thats what I tried but nothing happened. Will have another look.

Thanks Cuddles, I bought some blue checked fleece today to make Grandson's hoody and some blue lining t line it with. Has anyone ever made a top with a lining before? Was wondering whether you make the lining up the same as the top then hand stitch it around the edges to the outer bit or if there is another way of doing it? I wont be putting stretchy cuffs on or anything but want to do a zip down the front so it is like a jacket. Will just be using one of his ones he already has as a pattern but dont think he has any that are lined already.

Also bought myself a remnant of brown jersey with a gold metallic pattern printed on it to make myself some kind of top. Any tips on sewing jersey? I havent made anything with it for years now and cant remember how to go about it. Think you have to change the needle but what thread to use? And do you need to sew with a stretch stitch?

    Thanks a lot, Rufus xx
