i love the aprons, my little ones could all do with new one's.

oil cloth might be better for my youngest. although having said that his older brother is more messy than him, lol. loving the quilts been made and the wall hanging. lots of idea's.

last year I was given a lovely peace of oil cloth. I cut it into half, used half as a mat to put under DGD's table/chair for easy clean when she plays with playdough, painting or Eating! Then with the other section I made two childrens aprons. I did find it a little difficult to sew, I dont think I had the right needles at the time, but I was able to keep one apron, which is in constant use, and sell the other one! Bonus.:D
We have several aprons now, mostly made from remenants, and pillowcases. One is lined with Mr T valueline Shower curtain. I use them for lining bags, etc etc. Very handy. Although the cost of them has gone up double over the last 18 months. When they were 89p they are last looked, around £1.50 but dont quote me. I still have enough in stock to use up!.

My Machine will be ready to collect at lunchtime today. I shall have to see about getting it ASAP.

I have trouble keeping up with the thread, but all the pictures I see, are inspirational, and I really want to get going again!.

i get so many idea, but i just don't seem to have enough hours in the day. when i do get a spare 5 mins i fall asleep, lol. i slept for 13 hours last night, and i'm still tired, but think how much sewing i could of done in that time, lol.

My other experiments aren't really good enough to share, none the less I am improving

I really like these Laura, may have to pinch the idea if that's OK?

I'm new to the thread and trying to read through it, but it's taking a while. I got a sewing machine for Christmas so am going to try it out over the next couple of days. Just hope I don't sew my fingers together :o

I've just discovered shirring. So DD is going to have a lot of plain shirred cotton summer dresses.

I'm thinking that since she is still a toddler, fat quarters would be perfect. Anyone know where to get some cheapy bundles? Looked on ebay but wondered if there was anywhere else? My local fabric shop is a bit stuck in 80's.

Lovely makes everyone. I wish I had enough space in my house to quilt. Ive been reading my quilting book and cant wait to get started but its a bit of a squeeze in our flat as we dont have a big table that I can work on.

Tiamai, looking forward to seeing your shirring. I have 2 reels of shirring elastic in my sewing drawer that Ive never used as Im scared of it!!

    Here is my latest make.

Edit: Also meant to ask - has anyone been to the Creative Stitches & Hobbycraft day before? Im thinking of going but not sure whether its any good or not or if its more designed for Cross Stitch and jewellery/card making. x
