I've had a quick look on amazon and there seem to be 2 possibilities, Fiskars Avanti Dressmaking Scissors or Fiskars Classic Tailors Shears. I assume it's the latter, being the most expensive that are the ones to get?nuttywoman wrote: »I`ve got some Ikea ones that i`m impressed with
i'd say it really depends on what you're mum will be cutting and how much use / abuse they will get. the cheaper 'dressmaking' scisors will be great for lightweight fabrics such as cotton and polycotton; the 'taylors' ones will handle multiple layers of even heavier weight fabrics, and be fine with canvas ect too.
i've dressmaking scisors i keep for cottons ect where i want a clean edge, and have Ikea scisors for denimn and canvas ect where in all honesty a perfect cut matters a bit less. AND i have seperate Ikea ones for poly(cheap) felt and wadding. And none of these have ever touched paper and never will.:D
nuttywoman - you both look great!
penib - so pretty!

i've made my other half a log carrier out of a pair of his old denimn jeans. it was going to be part of his xmas present, but it's a bit rough so i've called it a 'prototype', given it to him today, and asked for his input to make it better. he said to add a fastner to hold it together when it's not in use, so it was a useful exercise.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
