Hi everyone
I'm new in here but you seem like a lovely bunch of people! Can't wait to try some of your ideas.
I wonder if this rings any bells - i found an old patchwork / quilting magazine, with part (part 2) of a quilt pattern called 'boys and girls' (obviously missed part 1, don't know how many more parts there are).
Does anyone know where I could get a copy of this pattern, or know where i can find other quilt patterns? (Free, of course
)
Thanks, SxOh for Goodness' Sake!! Here we go again

Hello all! Just spent the last of my Xmas money on a sewing machine. Its sitting in its box on the table, I had a hairy black ice journey to and from work so heres hoping it cheers up my day. I got the Singer one from Lidl that was £79.99 so hope its not too rubbish. I shall update in abit.0

Lelly - your cat is fab I love its little face!
I'v been using some of my bits to make a rice hand warmer and a rice neck warmer, the neck one is brill it helps when you have a sore sewing neck.
Both very simple, made them with plain cotton insides and fleece covers so they can be washed.
I gave the big one a zip and the little one a couple of plastic poppers.
If anyone else makes them please remember not to microwave metal zips - must take them out first and heat the inside only.

I've just finished sewing my bedwarmers ...... I wish I had read your post before, I never thought to make them with a washable cover, would probably use velcro as I'm useless at sewing zips. Oh well, 1 to remember next time when these are worn out.Kandipandi wrote: »Lelly - your cat is fab I love its little face!

Hand Warmer
I made my handwarmers a little smaller, just big enough to pop into my gloves, although must admit they feel much nicer in my suede mittens (£3 bargin ... Primark).
Hmmmmn, that's an idea for a christmas prezzie, ...... mittens complete with handwarmers.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness

You will love them even more once you've tried them outFrenchgirl wrote: »Hi get ready to laugh! I love the hand warmers. Im going to have ago at making one. Is the rice normal cooking rice? You may have guessed Im new at crafting.
Yes, just normal rice. I used 'Tesco Value' long grain white rice (1kg 73p) and it works great.
