Until I can get out and get some supplies for my sewing projects, I have been crocheting. I am planning to make a blanket out of my granny squares.
I taught myself how to do it on Sunday and I have become addicted.
Just wish there were 34 hours in a day so i could sew/knit/crochet and work and be a mother and wife!

Me too (or just slow time a bit) :rotfl:I have so many ideas and everything to get started for crocheting/sewing/jewllery making and just adding to my home but not the time to do it.

I so want to try the amigurumi bits I have seen on here.

I work all 7 evenings and the days go too fast :(
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

Finally got around to sewing some 'hand warmers' today, used some left over fleece and 'Tesco Value Rice'!!!

Popped them into my gloves, and AND no cold hands, I must say they worked a treat. I've had a fab day outside with the pre-schoolers and after-school club playing in the snow ..... oh what a hard job I have :D.

They only stayed warm for 1/2 hr, but another minute in the microwave .... heaven!

All the staff were so jealous and couldn't believe it was just rice inside ........ so now I have the task of sewing them some.

Now off to make the 'bed warmer'.

Tete, thank you so much for the fabulous trees idea - they're smashing and don't look hugely complicated!

They're not, I hand-sewed mine and they only took an hour - this year I'm going to have a go with snowmen, stars and such - easy peasy!

I know how you feel Kandi, I'm not even a mother or wife but there still aren't enough hours in the day! I'm impressed with you teaching yourself to crochet - crochet and knitting are two things I'd like to learn this year...

Candy - thanks for the crayon roll, it's fab - I want to make one of these for my friend's little boy, so trying to think of a more boyish picture ... a boat or a choo choo perhaps?

I really fancy having a go using felt rather than material. Have managed to pinch my auntie's pinking shears .... just worried that I wont be able to cut the edges neat enough. Maybe I should cut the edges before before I sew the pieces together.

Candy - I think I will make some of these. Also I might make some long ones for your neck (well my neck could do with one) do you think I could mix the rice with a bit of lavender or will this not work?
