As mentioned earlier it is normal rice, but I microwaved my rice and left it to dry for a bit before putting it in the bags or they can become damp.
I would recommend adding a bit of dried lavender as I think it smells a bit odd, but my DH reckons it smells a bit like popcorn and loves it!
Where would you buy dried lavender? You can stand there and agonize........

Hello All :hello:
Kandi: If you google for dried lavender you will get lots of hits to purchase your lavender.
I personally use www.daisygifts.co.k at the moment they are doing a special of 1kg for £14.99 plus delivery £3.99. The lavender is from Provence, so if you prefer to purchase uk only try www.pembrokeshirelavender.co.uk - 1kg is £20.00 plus delivery£3.75 per consignment
Hope this helps

Wow, OH and I went to the south of France on holiday last year and you can buy big bags of lavender there really cheap. Note to self - ask MIL to bring some back the next time she goes (Family comes from there).0 -
Yeah I think that is expensive - not sure if I will use a kg, but maybe I should buy it and go mad and make loads of lavender gifts. L
ike always I am very impatient and want some now, I will try my health food shop and see if they have any, but I imagine it will be expensive.
My friend recommended that I buy the cheap microwave bags from B&M bargains and cut them up to make my microwave bags?? Nice thought but kind of defeats the purpose I think. You can stand there and agonize........

I agree, I don't think you'd feel as proud as you will having made one from scratch. I mentioned before I got a small bag of lavender (about the size of a bag of sugar, not sure of the weight though) from Past Times for £3.40 on offer - think they're normally £4, don't know if that helps...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Any ideas on anything i could make for valentines day for my boyfriend? I did hear about a pattern in a magazine for boxers, but he likes tight ones because then he doesnt get a wobble!! Thats obviously harder to make isnt it? (this coming from ther person who hasnt used a sewing machine since i was in my teens (only about 8 years ago but still!)
Thanks for the freecycle idea too, i did see someone selling a singer sewing machine for £45 in the paper, might keep my eye out there too.0
