...although not this morning:(:(:(
... I dropped my poor machine!
I had left it out last night, so I was putting it away before the munchkins got hold of it. However despite knowing for ever that I should never, ever hold the machine by the hard case handle and MUST hold it from underneath. I held it by the handle and yes, it fell out of the case, and landed on it's side. I have broken one of the spokes for the top threads completly and the other is very bent. I havent attempted to bend it back incase I snap that one too!
There is one on ebay but with postage it is £12. (and money is tight atm) I am hoping to ring around and find one elsewhere but my poor machine is a very old lady and must be about 40 years old so no easy task!
I am hoping that that is all the damage - I don't suppose I was the first person in 40 yrs to drop her!:(
If the only part you have damaged is the pins then a cone thread holder might mean you can use the machine still.

Scroll almost to the bottom of the page and look for item number 23321 cone thread holder £4.95. Delivery is £2.50 or free if order is over £30.
I had one and found it quite successful. I used to use the big cones from my overlocker with it but it would take other size threads. The only reason I don't use it now is because I broke it. I am tempted now to get another one now this post has remnded my of it.0 -
Rosalie-Lavender I think that would work for straighforward sewing, but not for winding up the bobbin
It is just the pins that need replacing, one has snapped right off the other is very bent (but DH might be able to straighted it) My model is a Bernina 727 that my Mum bought second hand in the 70's.
I am holding off buying the part on ebay in case someone else on here has another suggestion!
I think once I have done all my Christmas makes I need to make a new sewing machine cover/case!0 -

The bag is lovely but I agree with the button - maybe a toggle or fancy chinese knotted button (like you get on those suzy wong type dresses) or brass button
And Pootle I forgot to say well done -your bunny is lovely!0 -
Wow you have all been busy
As always work gets in the way for me but I have managed to do some sewing at last (I forgot how much I love it)
I have at last made the crayon rolls (well pencil :rotfl:) for my DGD
the crayon fabric was brought off ebay and the inside fabric was kindly given to me by PootleI just LOVE your bunny and cat :T
I also made some fabric crackers
and a large fabric box to keep some of my fabric inthis one I did line with cardboard as it was too big to stand up on its own.
Well done everyone on the beautiful things you have made :T
one day I will have more time to join in more :rotfl:Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Wow, what ideal fabric for the Crayon Rolls Hart!:T
I've just been in John Lewis, browsing the craft materials and they have some reduced from £15 per meter down to £7.50. I've just had a look, but it doesn't look like they have it on line.
Cheers
