chasingsunshine - i'd agree with the others and check the things they said, but also as you are sewing a much thicker fabric double check the stitch length is enough to cope - it might need to be longer. i've never tried hessian myself and could see it could be a problem for many machines, not just your budget one.
ps. handsewing is a nice thing to do sometimes to chill out, so it might not be the end of the world if you have to do some by hand. GOOD LUCK!!

Its the little yellow square looks like a mountain and sun scene after the insert email link option and before the wrap quote option.

    Cheers

  • jcr you are starting to make me like purple lol! I don't think that I have EVER owned a piece of purple clothing, well apart from the lilac lycra dress I wore to my 21st that is (but it was the 90's lol)

and Pennis monkeys always make me smile too...

    ...although not this morning:(:(:(

    ... I dropped my poor machine!

I had left it out last night, so I was putting it away before the munchkins got hold of it. However despite knowing for ever that I should never, ever hold the machine by the hard case handle and MUST hold it from underneath. I held it by the handle and yes, it fell out of the case, and landed on it's side. I have broken one of the spokes for the top threads completly and the other is very bent. I havent attempted to bend it back incase I snap that one too!

There is one on ebay but with postage it is £12. (and money is tight atm) I am hoping to ring around and find one elsewhere but my poor machine is a very old lady and must be about 40 years old so no easy task!

I am hoping that that is all the damage - I don't suppose I was the first person in 40 yrs to drop her!:(

  • jcr16 that is beautiful! :)
  • Wow, that quilt is gorgeous. I love the message on it and that it'll become an heirloom for future generations. Your cushions are great too.

Tamster, sorry to hear about your machine. Hope it is easily fixed.

I got some material from the market on Saturday which was ideal for lining the bag I wanted to make. It was a 'remnant' for £2 but when I've measured it there's 3 metres!
I made the bag yesterday -

I've always loved the outside fabric when I had it as curtains but now I've made the bag I'm not so keen, but at least I've got it out of my system! I think it could do with a bigger button as well.
