Not been sewing much as I'm trying to teach myself to crochet (and can do that in front of the telly :o), but I did make a tiny owl for my Granny from a tweed skirt - inspired by 23rdSpiral's Hoot from months ago - remember?

Some more pics on my blog :)

Hope you feel better soon Pooky :(

That is one cute little owl!

As I seemed to have been sewing for as long as I can remember I find that teaching sewing is a bit of a fascination to me.
I have been following some american homeschooling site, since a link for Freebie books of the days were pointed out here on MSE. However this time, there is a PDF file going free that may interest the older members, but may be of interest to some younger ones.
Its a "5 year course "of Stitichery, from 1911!!! http://http://www.homeschoolfreebieoftheday.com/ if your interested in sewing, like I am. you may find this enlightening!! you will need to scroll down a bit, as i\ cannot actually manage the link to the book. Sorry.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

This link http://www.wholesomechildhood.com/1stitchery.html will take you straight to the PDF Mooloo
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Oooh that looks fab Mooloo, but I don't have the right software on my work computer, and somehow I don't think the techies will install it so I can download Stitchery For Girls 1911

Can't remember who made the Pincushion / Scrap Bag, but I decided to make one today.
Not sure if I was having an off day, or the tutorial wasn't too well written, but it has taken me 4 hours.
I read some bits several times and still couldn't work out some bits.
I would advise anyone doing this to follow it on screen rather than print it out as the pics aren't too clear.

    Here's my effort

The finished photo is on my blog. I am quite pleased with it even tho it's not what I first imagined it to be!
