  • When my children were small I had some really large tapestry needles with a blunt end. They were a similar size to the plastic ones but made of metal. I hunted for mine last night because if I could find one of them I could let you have it.

It is typical that when I want to sew up knitting I can never find a smaller needle but now I want the big one I can't find it. If it turns up I will let you know Mooloo.

I should think you can still get them now though.

I wondered why the page was twice the size then I saw "invasion of the giant sock monkey" and realised why!

There is an edit option in photobucket (or whatever software you using) Go to resize then reduce to medium size.

p.s its really cute though (big, but very cute!!) :T

Thank you for the advice, it seems a better fit now lol! x

Thanks, I will have to keep an eye out for them on my travels. Only have fine needles in my stash, as never done embroidery or tapestry! And dont want to start, have enough basic sewing to do!.

Meanwhile will occupy her with the button tin! :rotfl:

Just wondering if anyone has had the fabric from Plumbs yet?

I tried to order on line, but it said there was a problem.
Reconsidered what I wanted and rang to place an order.

After 4 days I had a call saying they had 2 orders and which did I want!
Then turns out that what I wanted was OOS so reverted to original choices.
    That was last week.

Just had a letter thanking me for my order and saying to allow 28 days for dispatch!!!!
Please allow a further 3 - 5 days for our courier to complete delivery.

Wonder if I'll have it for Christmas?

Yes I had a letter saying the same. No sign of my fabrics, however I noticed that they have refunded £2 of my money? So presume something is out of stock.
Considering all the fabrics I have ordered lately, they are the worst for delivery time!

Strawberryfayre fabrics have arrived, but I dont think they were very brilliant value for money. But lovely little pieces so I can at least use them in small parts of projects!.

Hi, I was wandering round the web and I found this site with free patterns for projects for children. As far as I can see it hasn't been mentioned on here before:
    http://www.buttonbag.co.uk/free-projects.php

in particular there is a pattern for a cute hood for children with animal ears, although I can't look at it myself as pdf's never open on this computer.

have just bookmarked this site thankyou

wee-elf, well done with your sock monkey. Have you given it to your mum yet?

pennib, your latest sock monkey is cute; was it any harder working with the soft socks?

vicki, your son's sewing is really sweet.

    I've made this today:

I've just marked the eyes with felt tip till I get some black beads.
