hart i love the fabric of the padded baby blanket. it is beautiful. both hubby and i said next baby we have we wouldn't find the sex out. but seeing all these beautiful makes i would be able to make. i think i'd have to find out, so i could sew for england. along with the huge list of other bits on my list to make, lol.
well my part for my machine is still out of stock at my local singer shop. but i've found the belt on ebay. so i am just hoping it will get posted 1st class today and be here tomoz. as i just want to get on. i'd borrow my mums machine but hers is huge and you need to fork lift truck to move it !( it's the very old singer which came in a wooden case)0 -

What do you think of your 2100 danables?
I really like it but its a bit to light for quilting and would prefer the middle bit to be much bigger as feeding a quilt through it is tough, but quilting machines are far more expensive sp for a standard machine it handles it pretty well.0 -

I'm making the second dress for my daughter. I've adjusted the newspaper pattern I'd made for the first one, to rectify the mistakes and it's coming together a lot quicker. I've put a split in the back of this one but the zip she bought is really long and comes below the split.
Can I cut the zip shorter and just sew across the bottom?0 -

I shorten zips all the time. I cut it off at the top, just make sure the ends are sewn in well so the slider can't come right off. If you have already put the zip in you can cut it off at the bottom but sew it really well across the teeth before you cut it off.0 -
Hello,
That is beautiful. Could I ask, is the background quilted and the flowers appliqued? I can't quite see how it is done.0 -
Welcome to the thread Morgan. x
Danables, your quilted pillow is absolutely brilliant!!0 -
I'd love to join this group. I've been sewing all my life but don't know anyone else who sews at all or is even interested. My BFF gets incredibly bored when I drag her into fabric stores and start drooling over material (not literally). It would be great to hear of any good online sources for fabrics that others have used.0
