The Sewing Room

I'd love to join this group. I've been sewing all my life but don't know anyone else who sews at all or is even interested. My BFF gets incredibly bored when I drag her into fabric stores and start drooling over material (not literally). It would be great to hear of any good online sources for fabrics that others have used.
Hi jerezyou are very welcome
We are all fabric droolers here :rotfl: and there are lots of fabric sites (good prices too) on here.
Theses are some of my fav'sat the moment. Im sure there are more and the girls here will help

Repairing fitted sheet elastic
Help please, not quite sure if this post should be here or perhaps old style. Anyway maybe the mods will move it if necessary.
I have some fitted bottom sheets, where the elastic has ´gone´ on the corners so they´re not neatly fitted anymore. Has anyone got a quick easy way of re-doing the elastic please? what size, strength elastic, do i make a hem and thread it thro´or use some straight or bias tape, how about zig zagging the elastic straight on the sheeting?
Please advise and share your experiences, tips, successes or even methods that didn´t work successfully
Thanks

I made some really nice two-sided bunting yeaterday from a kit I was given (which I know cost a lot). But it was really easy and if anyone wants to know how I'll post instructions. Camera on the blink or I'd post a pic - sorry.
PS I'd like to know the answer to Sandy2's question about fitted sheet elastic too please !0 -

I don't know its name I'm afraid, but it was in my local John lewis (Edinburgh) last week. They had pretty much her whole range in stock. Have you one near you to have a look in and note the name before scouring the internet for a cheaper supplier?! or just treat yourself!!!!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Thanks for this R.mac (Im in Edinburgh too!!) I try and avoid buying fabric from John Lewis because its so expensive and once I start I just know I wont stop(!) If I cant find it online though I might just pop in and "treat myself" again. Thanks Hart, useful to know the name of it. If I do find it online Ill post a linky. Currently in love with loads of the Michael Miller stuff too at the moment. (R.mac, have you been through to rejects in Kirkcaldy? I was there last week and they have loads of nice stuff!
