Nuttywoman, sorry I can not help with your prob, I give my patterns to my OH to put on the photocopier at work :o maybe you can find somewhere that can do that for you.

I have at long last done some sewing :j
I made a padded blanket for my DIL for my grandchild due in Jan :D and also 2 taggies (not happy with the 1st so made another :rotfl:)
I used some lovely fabric I got from Fancy Moon http://www.fancymoon.co.uk/ for the padded blanket and some very soft fleece (I cut up a fleece trow) and the taggies were made with some baby Looney Tunes fabric I had :D

hello - I'm back with more questions I'm afraid!

Also - I really want to make my wee girl something like this (which is round, but I'd happily make a square or rectangular one) My google searches aren't really throwing up any patterns - can anyone help? or Alternatively, tell me whether I could wing it with my own fabric for the outer, some lining fabric and perhaps some batting to add the structure?????? I really want to make her a beatrix potter one to match her room (I managed a cushion and a cot duvet cover *beams*) :D

Pink Penguin does a lovely one of these that you can make yourself (obviously you dont have to make it patchwork if you dont want). Here are a couple of links.

the one by pink penguin is perfect - thanks. I hadn't thought of adjusting it to use one piece of fabric instead of the patchwork effect. Doh!

Good morning ! I just wanted to tell you how delighted I am to have (accidentally) found this thread. I generally bustle about on OS but am on a hideous diet given to me by the hospital - in essence you just have milk. OS is full of FOOD which I can't bear thinking about just now, but I used to sew all my and my daughters' clothes and had rather given it up. Now I have a granddaughter and was thinking I should get smocking again, but I needed a bit of a push. And now I've found this really great thread I shall lurk a bit and gather inspiration Thank you all very much ! :T

Tell me about it! Sadly my sewing projects for this week consist of two trouser hems and two buttons which have fallen off a jacket and a cardie :(

Welcome Morgan, hope you're not on that milk diet too long, sounds grim!

I've just made this from one of my mum's old jumpers (or a very small part of it as he's only about 6") and some scraps of felt. It was from a really easy tutorial - I think it was called the Trey Owl if you google it.

What do you all do when you have to increase patterns by say 75% ? I have a few books with patterns in the back but they have to be increased and i`m not sure really how to go about it.Can i do it with my printer etc? Thanks

Hi nuttywoman. I have just bought a new all-in-one printer which has the facility to enlarge patterns on the copier bit. It is really easy to use and I am so pleased I spent the money on it.
Before that I used to have to use the computer software provided with my scanner which was long winded and not too successful.
