Mum even let me go through her lace and take what I wanted as a lot of it was too wide for her to use on her cards :j
Then she gave me a load of ribbon :D.

grr... i bookmarked a fantastic link that listed sewing machine probs & what the cause was likely to be. I searched all yestersday eve & again just now but i can't seem to find it!

Don't you hate it when that happens. Think I need a clearout of my favs folders!

Sorry I couldn't help (but the thought was there)

    Hi everyone,

Dont think I have posted on this thread before but i'm obsessing over sewing at the moment and thought I would show you the playmat I have made for imminent baby. I've been reading this thread for ages and read all your posts about fabric rehab and am now hooked on their materials. This play mat works out so much cheaper and so much nicer than the one I had last time from Mamas and Papas..... And if the cat widdles on this one, there arent any electric things which will break and I can put it in the washing machine :rotfl:Am busy quilting the birds but rapidly getting bored of that part.

Right, machine is working although apparantly the bobbin tension is off? Does anyone know how to adjust it? It's a Brother Celebrity 10. The stiches are all off, some are fine and others look quite loose.

Tension is altered on the main dial. The top cotton is pulling to tight. Also have you run the needle cotton correctly through the tension disc? Sometimes we don't get it quite right. :o

Edit: Is the bobbin threaded correctly too. Often it's the simple mistakes are the ones we over look.

jennieshrew i love your baby play mat. thats one of my next project to make.

i've come along way with my patchwork quilt. i've bought the most gorgeous purple cotton to use for the backing and it is such a rich colour.just waiting for all my wadding and more thread and material to come from ebay so can finish it. while i'm waiting i've started the second quilt.i'm really chuffed with the colours i've made it in. ( shades of purples). but i'm now just wanting to get it finished. i want to see the end result.

Can anyone help with sewing machine needles?

I have a JMB sewing machine SSM1010 and I bought some "universal" needles from eBay

    They don't fit the machine!:o

Does anyone know where I can find out what size needles my machine needs please?:D
