Claire, he's so cute, well done! Thanks for the tip about the market too, I'll have to try it one weekend (I'm sure OH will LOVE being dragged about Stockton for that!)
Midge I love that little dress! Did you use a pattern for it?
I'm *almost* finished my maxi dress, go on hols on Saturday so that was incentive to crack on with it. It fits OK, feels a little loose around the ribs, but if I breathe in hard it's quite tight so I wouldn't like it any tighter in case I burst the seams! Just need to take it up a little and hem it, but I know what length it needs to be so hopefully it should only be a half hour job. Will hopefully have a pic to post tomorrow!
Next project after that will be an apron I'm making my friend for her birthday to go with a cupcake book, I'll only have a week to do it so hope it'll be as easy as it looks. It's the one from last month's (?) Sew mag - anyone else attempted it?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
For anyone interested in patchwork fabrics, The Fabric Guild in Leicester now has an online shop. Great for anyone like me who lives too far away to visit the shop. They only sell a limited selection online but the fabric is really nice and it is all top brands at £3 a yard - they are still using yards. Don't know if I am allowed to put a link to the site, but you should be able to find it by googling Fabric Guild.0

Wiggly Bags
How to make a ‘wiggly bag’
Children who are having treatment for cancer usually have a central line lots of kids call this a wiggly. A wiggly is a tube, usually with two clips on the end, which passes into the chest and is used to give medicines and to take blood, it becomes a child’s best friend as it means an end to needles.
If you’d like to help us in providing families with ‘wiggly bags’ then please click on the instructions below.
I am going to make some and send them off they seem simple enough.
Instructions to make them are also on this blog http://www.madebyflorence.co.uk/pdf/wigglybagpattern.pdf
this lady makes such beautiful things, I have real blog envy.

Hi all
Thanks for comments. The dress is Butterwick pattern B5181 and the material for the dress and bag came from ebay.

I did manage some sewing today :rotfl: I turned up my OH's new trousers (he could only get 35'' leg but needs 31'') and I had to make a tablecloth for my DD as she is doing her GCSE catering exam tomorrow and needed one to display her food and all I had was a white sheet
I did finish some other half started projects though :j
It has ben so nice to have a day to myself but boy doesn't it go fast :rotfl:
Off to work in a bit so catch up laterGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap pattern for a dress for a baby girl 12-18months?
Thanks0 -
Claire I love your Murlock - I was a WOW widow for a long time so I recognised it!
I am watching you all with interest but have not been sewing much at all this week apart from little hexies, they are easy to pick up and put down, had such a hectic week and with this heat I am just exhausted! You can stand there and agonize........

*star* I have a book from The book people, called Making Childrens Clothes by Emma HArdy.
There are lots of LOVELY patterns nearly all for little girls. (I have boys and so there are only 3 patterns for boys) and it is only £4.99
If you try googling there are also lots of lovely free patterns out there. try Freeneedle dot com (sorry I am still not allowed to post links - newbie)0 -
star; here is a site that has some free patterns
