Made my first thing on my mini sewing machine - a shabby chic heart. I think shabby is a good way to describe it :rotfl: The two rounded bits of the heart were all scrunched up and uneven but after I put a bow and some lace to hang it with I think it's almost unnoticeable. I think I'll be keeping that one for myself though :o

Thank you :D Im so glad I managed to get the coasters finished and Im pleased they turned out better than I hoped :D.

I have heard of mod podge but I wasn't sure what to do with it so thank you genieuk :D

Well done Claire keep trying it gets better :). My 1st heart looked like devil horns rather then rounded curves lol.

I have made a start on my patchwork cushion covers to match my black and red quilt (I had enough square left over to make 3, I hope lol).
Im going to see Pink at Alton Towers on Sunday so I need to get try and finish them in the next few days.

I've finished the dress for my daughter out of the duvet. It's a good job I wasn't using her proper fabric because I had to recut a couple of things. The bodice was alright because I had a pattern for that but I didn't think about putting darts in the back of the skirt until after I'd cut it out so had to do it again and then I decided to line the skirt as well as the bodice and cut the back pieces without darts again! I put a couple of pleats in the front and calculated how much extra that would need but realised after I'd cut it out that I'd only added enough for one! I just made the pleats half as big so that wasn't too bad.
I found a zip in my sewing box which came from a zip up cardigan of my daughter's when she was little. It was open ended but that didn't matter but it was bright pink and the dress is cream but you can't really see it.
    I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Did you clip the curves before you turned it inside out? That should make it flatten out.

What do you mean 'clip the curves'? :o I have the night to myself tonight so I'm going to stick a dvd on and try and do a few more.

When you have a curved piece you snip the material close to the sewing line (not too close or you will have holes:eek:) then when it's turned the right way it should lie flat.
