Fold a long strip of fabric along the length so you make it the same length but skinnier. I had to think about that too!

    :jLove the garland Arty

Also love the babygro ideas Bunny, as I'm into all things baby at the moment.
My second grandson arrived last week, and my third is due in October.
We are off to my daughters tomorrow, and I am taking a patchwork cot quilt, patchwork pram quilt, 4 crib sheets, 1 cot sheet 12 bandana bibs, 1 appliqued fleece blanket, a portable changing mat in a fleece bag (also appliqued) and a Bath Apron. :rotfl:

I love your baby things Cuddles :T I am making baby stuff ready for my 2nd grandchild, I love the bandana's (how did you do them) are they as simple as they look?
I have made a nappy pouch for my DIL to put in her bag, no more rummaging for a nappy or if she wants to just grab a small bag to go to her mum's who lives closer to her.
You can see it on my page :)

molly/kandi, thanks for your replies, i think it sounds like what id like, im not really bothered about the projects, just want something that will tell me what the sewing terms mean, and when im making something from a pattern, to be able to refer to it and make sure im doing things right if that makes sense.....

    Hi everyone! :hello:

I have been lurking all week, because I didn't have much to contribute until now because last night I HAD MY FIRST SEWING CLASS!! I absolutely loved it! :j I made a clutch purse and it is lovely - I am so proud of it! I really didn't think I would have anything to show for it, because I thought we would just be learning techniques (which we did) but we also completed our wee project too. Okay, I'm a bit nervous, but I'm going to show you it now:

I have a tutorial saved on the other computer, but basically I did a 14" square. Right sides together, sew all 4 sides. Mark the diagonal line and sew either side of it, leaving a space for turning. Cut along the diagonal, and you have 2 bibs.
Hand finish the opening, then I top stitched to finish off.
Velcro for fastening gives a bigger size range.

I have made a variety, using cotton material, fleece and shower curtain for waterproofing. Some I curved the poinnted edge and appliqued a little teddy.

Hi - I am not a sewer, wish I was sometimes, but I am more a papercrafter. Just popped in to show you a site you might like that sells funky modern fabrics, I found whilst bloghopping today.

    Here's the link:

Hope I'm not duplicating anything, haven't read through the thread but thought you might like it. Not that I want to encourage you to spend, this is after all meant to be a money saving site! :D
