I was busy most of last weekend making my daughter another dress. She has a big thing for checks and tartan at the moment and a slight punky streak.
and the back
[IMG][/img]The back is the MSE bit. When her ever increasing bust grows she can let out the lacing and it will fit her for longer.
and it was made by adapting the same pattern I used for these that I posted earlier and the red lace is left over from a dress I made myself.
I have a piece of material left and I am going to make a bag with it. Thank you to all the lovely bag makers on here for giving me the idea of what to do with it. A re-ocurring theme in all three dresses are the bows, she always wants bows.
I will be waiting with interest to see what shoes she wears with it. It would never surprise me to see it worn with converse trainers or plimsolls
Sorry the pictures are so big, I have resized them in photobucket but I can't seem to get them to come out any smaller on here. If anyone has any tips for adding photos I would be glad of them. I managed it last time but can't remember how I did it.
It seems I must be going loopy because the pictures have decided to go small again!0 -

After seeing the other lovely girls skirt on this page I thought I'd share mine. This is only the fourth thing I've sewn so I'm quite happy with it. I think it looks nicer in real life, but I'm biased :rotfl:.
I was a bit miserable last night and spent £50  on fabric to cheer myself up. It will last me ages though, and I'm planning to use it to make some zippered pouches and things as presents so it's less un-mse than it sounds as I'll be able to make loads... Yep, that was my attempt at justifying it...
That's really cute, the floral fabric is lovely.0 -

All of these are great. I can see the tartan one with DMs, it just has to be!0 -
Well I don't know what happened with my sizing, first it was big then I edited out an emoticon that wasn't showing properly and they went small and now the pictures are big again.
Nichelette I love that skirt, the colours are lovely. I am trying to resist the temptation to spend any more on fabric. I have loads here but it is very tempting when the samples come from Remnant house.0 -
Thank you both
. I love your dress too, I'd have loved to wear something like that when I was a teenager. The floral fabric is here in case anyone is interested: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200452332801

The tartan dress is fantastic and I love your idea of being able to let the lacing out so it grows with her. My first thoughts were DM's with it.0

This is the dress pattern I am going to attempt tomorrow :rotfl:
My one problem is.. Im not sure what size to cut the pattern toIm a size 10/12 but the sizes they give for my measurements is a size 14 so not sure if I should do 12 or 14.
I dont want to do it as a 14 then find out its too big or the other way a size 12 then can not get in it (oh Im confused)
Im doing the patterned dress at the bottom by the way.
I just love the latest makeswell done everyone :T
Danables, I hope your day is better tomorrow and Im always having a look at your blogGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing
