dizzytia , i love ur bag. wow.

i could do with a bag like that but bit bigger for beach days and days out with kids. did u use a pattern or make it up ?

I used a dead easy tutorial. If you have a look on my blog http://scratchycatcrafter.blogspot.com/2010/05/ric-rac-one-hour-bag.html There is a link to the tutorial. It takes less than an hour from picking material to finishing and is so easy. You could easily make it bigger. If you click on the link she has other tutorials for other bags on her page. Also if you scroll right to the bottom of my blog on the left hand site and click on the diy bag lover icon there are loads of bigger bag tutorials:D

I've been away on holiday (Turkey - bliss!) and daren't come on this thread until I knew I had time to properly catch up but I've done it now and wow you've all been so busy making beautiful things.
Kandi I love your mice - I really need to make some bits like that but I don't have a very big stash of buttons, ribbon and lace...yet!
Can't remember who made what now but there's been some lovely bags and pincushions which is something else I need to make ASAP.
I bought 3 zips this week so I'm planning on making a zip bag of some sort but haven't decided yet, I have several nearly finished projects on the go so I need to finish them before I start another one!

    Hi All

I am an avid fan of this thread and have been very inspired to get my sewing machine out. Have made loads of this and will post some pics later but I had to tell you all about this fantastic site I have just come across while trying to find some fabric to make a dress.

    http://www.vintagefabricmarket.co.uk/index.html

It has oodles of lovely bits on it and all reasonably priced.

I couldn't ind the bag when I followed the link but had a nosey on the site anyway. Did anyone else look at the Lamifix? I'm really tempted to buy some but I am supposed to be MSE and I don't have anything I want to make out of it.

I have just got out the Puff Patchwork cot and pram quilts I made almost 30 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter.:o

She is now pregnant and wants to use them, so I'm planning to resew and add bindings.

They are vintage Laura Ashley fabric

Cuddles those quilts are beautiful - quality lasts!

LJM I have made some bits from the CK Sew book but by machine. I can't see why you couldn't hand sew some smaller bits but the bag might be a pain as that cotton duck is quite thick and when you get the the top bit you will be working on lots of layers and your poor fingers will be sore :(
