    hi
just made a buttercup bag , not finished yet but i can't get the fasteners what has everybody else been using? don't want to pay £2 from ebay

When I made my second buttercup bag I didnt have another magnetic fastener so I made a loop and sewed an old pendant on the front but you could use a large botton :D

    Hi Dizzytina,

I made the writing with iron on transfer paper, Its not brilliant, but I haven't got a fancy sewing machine with embroidery.

The bag I made up as I went along. Its just an oblong of material, folded in half, sewn up the side seams and squared off the bottom to make a base. Added the reverse of the fabric to the top of the bag and made 2 handles.

    Cheers

    Sarah:D

Sarah, your tooth fairy stars are fab!! Was it just standard iron on paper you used? The stuff I bought says it has to be used on cotton but it looks like you have used it on shiny stuff. Think I might have to give these a go. My niece and nephew would love them!! :T p.s What did you use to get the star shape?

    Hi Pootleflump,

Yes it was standard Iron on paper. You have to be careful as the temperature of the iron has to be very hot. The shiny fabric which is duchess satin did start to burn at one point, however I like to experiment, which why they are still a work in progress. It is better on the cotton fabric, which are the ones I put in my MISI shop.

I drew the star shape using Microsoft publisher and adjusted the sides to make it fatter IYSWIM.

Hi everyone, Im after some advice please....
I really want to get into making more items and want to buy a sewing machine so I can join this thread properly! There is an auction by us on a friday and we went to view what items would be there and there was a sewing machine and I wondered if any of you could tell me if its any good please? I don't want my OH to go there tomorrow and bid on it if its useless! :D
It was a New Home Janome Memory Craft 7500, Ive tried googling it but can't really find anything about it, just a lot of links to manuals!

    Id really appreciate any help

    Thanks :)

Edit: Oh wow!! Ive had another look through the thread and I really can't wait to make things half as good as the things you all make, they are amazing, Im scared about trying a cushion lol, I think I may be needing a lot of advice from you all, I hope you don't mind
