I love the bags Witchwoopiggy and dizzy. They have turned out realy well.
I put together about 15 strips of six squares and now for the hard part making sure they line up :rotfl:
I still have to cut out loads of plain white fabric to go in-between the coloured ones. I AM going to get it finished this wkend :rotfl:

Witch your piggy bag is cute cute cute!
Tina your latest bag is fab, the fabric is lovely.
Hart - when i saw your chocolate box I started hunting the house for a box to cover for my bits and bobs.
Been busy making more little hearts and cushions, the little square cushion was intended to be a purse but i cut it too small (trying to save my precious cath kidston fabric):

I havent sewn in weeks, and thought I would come over to have a read and get inspired again!. I really must make the effort as I have masses of things I could be making, remaking and restyling. The only thing I did do was turn a pair of jeans into a skirt for my weekend away earlier in the month.
Oversewed the seams with a bright pink zigzag. Happened to wear it to the doctors the other day, and the nurse said, oh I do like your skirt! so I was quite pleased and of course its a one off! But that only took me about an hour or so to do, the unpicking, my BF did for me, while I patched his sons Dolce and gabanna jeans! (They are really quite knackered but he loves them, (the son not the BF).

Happy sewing everyone. Perhaps this afternoon when DGD goes to sleep, I can sew, instead of garden, as its looking like rain at the moment here.

What do you want to make? Clothes or craft works?
There are lots of freebie patterns mentioned very early on in this thread.
KwikSew make some simple patterns, most pattern manufacturers have patterns graded for ease. So that you can judge what you are able to do.

I teach the odd person here and there, and we usually start with simple things like Aprons, cushions and then simple shopping bags from pillowslips. childrens basic skirts and shorts.

Buying a comercial pattern they will come with complete instructions for how to lay the pattern out, what types of fabric they suggest to use, and are usually mulit size so you can taylor them to suit your measurements.

Good luck in what every you decide to do. :)
