witchwoopiggy - thats brilliant, very regal! My son was looking over my shoulder at your blog this weekend and was oooohhing and aaahhhhing at your piggies. He laughed quite hard at the picture of the two of them packed into their little bag, and shouted of his brothers to come and see them!

    Hi Ladies,

Finally I've had a day to do some sewing. I decided to make the Buttercup Bag, which some of you ladies made earlier in the thread.

I've put details and pics in my blog.

Love the Piggy Throne Witchwoo! I think you've found your niche market there. Good luck with the Folksy Shop!

    Cheers

Sarahjovi, noticed on your blog that you are selling through Misi, which I must admit I hadn't heard of before. How successful is it?
Witchwoopiggy I see you are selling through Folksy, had a look at that the other day and the terms seemed quite good.
I'm debating selling some handmade stuff online and wondering the best way to go about it.
I have got a contact with a kids clothing shop on ebay and she said she would sell them for me so I don't know the best way (we haven't talked terms yet)
Whats everyones opinions? How much traffic does Folksy and Misi get? Has anyone here ever bought from them? I know everyone in the states seems to use Etsy but I assume its us only? Does anyone know any other methods of selling online?

Just need to sort out some product first!!

Hi Bunny, I've had my Misi shop since the beginning of the year, I've haven't sold much, some crochet chickens at easter. I was considering going over to folksy, but from what I can gather, sales are quite slow everywhere at the moment.

Misi and Folksy are UK based, Etsy is US, but you can sell on there from the UK. Misi terms are 20p to list plus 3% of the sale, Folksy is 20p to list and 5% of the sale. Some people list there stuff on all 3 sites, some on 1 or 2. I think I haven't found my niche market yet.

I also sell at Village fairs and bazaars. Again don't sell masses, but my Hedgehog Pincusion has been popular also the Crochet Rose Brooches. I share a stall with my neighbour who makes Jewellery. She sells well, where as I just make pocket money. But I do it for the fun of it really and an outlet for my sewing.

    Cheers

hi, i cant be of much help but i've bought a few things off Etsy from the US before. it was very good and streamlined service. the only thing is i wish you could search effectivly for uk sellers ect.

would love to know what your reserch draws up - i'm seriously thinking of adding my fabric stash/scrap pieces to the growing pile of online supplies! (for people making patchwork ect and want lots of different / unique fabrics i've a lot of vintage cottons ect and there might be an interest.)
