Couln't face having the sewing machine out the other day due to horrible headache so sat and did hand sewn stuff and made this little keyring/bag charm:
I really enjoyed making her and have already started making more.
Love it :j0 -
Love the russian doll. I saw some really cute russian doll material the other day, but for once I had my sensible head on, and left it alone as it was really expensive.

What a beautiful dress Dinah and I love the fabric you used, it's a shame it turned out too big for you
Kandi clever you, love the key charm.
I have managed to cut out the fabric for my next bag and also I going to make a bathmat for my bathroom as I can never find the right size I want (well not in my price range anyway :rotfl:) and hopefully will finish them tomorrow.Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Vicki, love your apron!
Kandi, your charm is great!
Dinah, really like your dress!
You are all putting me to shame as I havent been motivated to do anything for a few weeks now.
Anyway, I was offered a job this morning which I accepted so hopefully that will make me a bit
more upbeat and motivated! Its full time (used to work part time) so wont have as much time
to do stuff but am really pleased in any case. Hopefully will get round to making something
over next week or so.0 -
Vikki- I love the apron. kandipandi- I love the russian doll, I want one!. Dinah is there really nothing you can do to alter the dress so it fits you?= its lovely. Murell- try asking for the manual or a copy of the manual on freecycle- you never know, i have known people to be quite generous on there.
Following on from my Tilda makes I have moved on to making clothes for my little girl (age 4) although finding patterns for boys clothes seems a little more difficult- if anyone has any for some little trousers or shorts, or can point my in the direction of a helpful tutorial on a blog I would really appreciate it.
Here are my recent makes:
Lazy days skirt
Giant pin cushion
Scissor Roll (scissors that came with my sewing machine)
Lazy days skirt 2

Dinah - that dress is gorgeous, can't you make it smaler, it's such a shame you look amazing in it, not sure about the bra straps at the back though!
Danables, you've been so busy! I love having a boy but I do think that making girls clothes would be much easier and more fun. I find he grows too fast so I'm not going to make him anything until he slows down a bit!0 -
Lol without the bra you could see far too much at the side! I had to keep it on for my modesty!
I could make it smaller, but I'd have to unpick the entire thing, to be honest I'd rather start again. I'd alter the top section as I found it too revealling, maybe do a self faced all around top, with a smaller halterneck or standard straps.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Danables ~ beautiful makes, bet your DD is delighted with her fab new clothes!
Pootle ~ congrats on the full time job! You will still find time to craft don't worry I work full time and have a hatful of kids and still make time to do bits and bobs, in fact you will need to craft to keep you sane! You can stand there and agonize........

Dinah the dress is fab
Danables - you have been busy i really love the pincushion which book/blog is it from
Molly - the thread should go between the tension discs or behind it if there is only one once the machine is threaded bar the needle gently pull on the thred if it pulls really easy turn the tension dial until it resists a little but not so tight that its hard to pull or snaps
In general problems with the bottom of stitches is a problem with the top of the machine and vice versa , the adjustment on the bobbin is the little screw that is next to the little arm that protudes(the point at which the thread leaves the bobbin)
Hope that helps
Shaz - who has made nothing for ages as she has exams until 3rd June*****
