    Afternoon ladies,
I hope I can pick your brians. I want to make curtains for our bedroom,
having just got a quote to have them made _pale_ (3 window)

any advice (please, not don't do it.............this was a friends advice this morning,) sites to look at, would be lovely.
Do it! Curtains are really easy to do. Have a look at this link to the prima magazine all about you craft section on curtains. There are lots of options on the type of curtains you can do, but if you are after bog standard curtains they couldn't be easier. Have a look here too on how to measure for curtains and how to make them.

no Shaz the ribbon dosnt show on the underside. You attach it on the wrong side of the fabric about half an inch from the hem and when you stitch on the what looks like the top edge to the wrong side you then turn the ribbon so that it becomes the bottom edge on the right side of the fabric... the raw edge then become encased between the ribbon and the front of the skirt leaving a nice tidy finish does that make sence?

    I think so !

I was given a bag of clothes today & in it there was a very pretty cotton top, white with little red flowers, I've cut it up to make DGD a top, there was also a red & white stripy teashirt, which is now cut up into a pair of trousers for DGD, I think they will make a lovely outfit for her.
There was also a yellow broiderie anglaise sun dress, that I think I'll make DGD a dress from.

    Too big jersey dress piccies

I'd make a piece that went across your back exactly were your bra sits. Would cover up the gaps at the side and would cover your bra strap too.

well, i'm slowly progressing with the hexagon charm quilt. i've signed up for another fabric square swap online and am really hoping my rotatary cutter skills improve VERY quickly! i'm taking my little tin most places and made 20 at my great aunt's at the weekend and 15 on the train to nottingham yesterday... where an old uni friend/work colleague who'd seen a facebook post gave me some Flower Fairy fabric they wouldnt use up! :j so i showed her my tin, and she was amazed they were so small and therefore she would dig out some smaller scraps for me! :D bless her!

oh that's a cute russian doll!! will look at the 'how to' with interest, thanks Kandipandi.

danables - everything is just brilliant!

dizzytina - if that's what you can come up with off the top of your head, i'm scared! the bed/pillow carry thinggy is awesome! i'd like a life size version!

sorry if i've missed anyone. there were quite a few pages to read over! oh, and i'm impressed and getting inspired by all the blogs appearing! (but think my flickr pages really should be enough for me for now!)
