Just callin in to say :hello:

Ive not done much sewing this weekend just a few heart yo-yo's :o

I have been busy today sanding my chest of drawers and it looks so nice now without all those layers of dark varnish (I even got rid of the ink stain on the top) I cann't wait to get it done so I can store my fabric in it :D

I have had a look at all your lovely work, I love the purse you have done Kandi :D and you are like me, time is so limited but so many things to do :rotfl: and how clever Hester to make a top out of a skirt :T
Zombiecass, we can only get better with practice :) well done on your shirt :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I'm having a bit of a 'mare making a dress atm, I'm using a polyester satin and its horrid, its slippy, slidey and frays easily. I think I've had to rip out and re-do every seam I'm sewn so far. I'm about 80% through, just need to put the zip in and sew up the back seam but now I've noticed that a seam has come undone! Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! I think I can cover it up with a flower but will have to wait and see.......

    I hate this fabric

Jersey dress finished. Phew. Used a ballpoint needle, dread to think what it would have been like without. Want to hear the real kicker? Its too big! And short of starting the whole thing again, its stuck this size - so I've offered it to my mum who is a size 14, where I'm a 10, and hopefully it will fit her nicely as I really do love the material. Will post up piccies later.

Hester - that top you have made is excellent, I like your blog too and have just subscribed.
Dinah - it's a shame about that dress after all of that grief, at least your Mum will be happy, looking forward to seeing the pics.

    Hi everyone,

Piccies of the bag i made for my mum at weekend as promised!. I made my first yo yo on it and now i'm addicted to yo yo's :rotfl:

Kandi love your purse - i so want one of those:D
Hester love the top its brill

I am definately going to be steering clear of jersey and satin for a long time i think after all the recent posts. I'm just getting a bit of confidence and think i would take 10 steps back if i try either of those:rotfl:

This may be a stupid question, but is the dreaded jersey fabric what tshirts are made from? I've seen lots of tutorials for making things out of tshirts but no mention of it being hard to sew.

While making curtains for DS's playhouse I got bored and made this apron from the left over fabric...

I can't wait for him to see it when he wakes up, I'm also planning a little oven glove and tea towel.
