I can't remember who posted a link to sewing tutorials on think-liz? I read through it anyway, and fell in love with these owls from one of the links. I hand-stitched one last night as my best friend loves all things owl-related, and have posted it on my blog if anyone would like to have a look? I've also posted a pic of some felt keyrings that I've made over the last week or two - I thought they might make nice stocking-fillers.
The owl is fab!:j I can't sew by hand to save my life, mind you I'm only just figuring out the machine lol! the keyrings are great too, I'd be pleased to find one in my stocking.0 -
Jailhouse ~ Your owl is fab as are your felt keyrings, I will add these to my ever increasing list of things to do!
23rd ~ I will have to stop nagging you now as you have started another project (you remind me of me :rotfl:).
Today I made a peg bag and sock monkey. Details on blog. You can stand there and agonize........

However it should let you comment, I had that problem with another blog this morning it wouldn't let me comment, but it did later on!You can stand there and agonize........

Kandi, Pegbag is lovely!
Jailhousebabe - I saw these too. How do you put them together? I looked on the blog last week as wanted to make one for my OH as he loves owls but I couldnt figure out how to put all the pieces together and it said something about only being in a book? Any tips would be gratefully received!0 -
Morning Girls
I'm after some opinions please! I'd like to have another go at the 1 hour bag today, this time changing the handle to go inside as suggested by pootle.:j The problem is I have run out of wadding. Can anyone think of anything else I could use instead? Do you think a layer of fleece would work?:cool:0 -
Morning Fruit-Loop
Do you have medium or heavy interfacing? If you do then you could probably get away with making it without wadding or fleece. Im not sure if fleece would make it too padded (I made it with heavy wadding on my first attempt and it ended up looking like a tea cosy!) Looking forward to seeing it with handles inside. Are you hiding them so they are between lining and outerfabric or just stitching to inside? Good luck with it! Sure it will be great.0 -
hi pootle - I used 4oz wadding on the 1st one, I was thinking of using a cheap thin ikea fleece blanket. But yes I do have med and heavy interfacing so could do that.
I'm planning on hiding the handle between the lining and outer, an making it narrower as mine seems a bit wide. Will post pics when its done. Hopefully I can do it today.0 -
