Thank you Fruit-loop
its me following your blog (well done for starting one
)
The bag is very easy to make, after pleating the front you have to attach the top band, I had a prob getting the 1st one I did to match up but the realised that I had to bend the bag a bit and not lay it flat to put it on. Doing the second one I knew exactly what needed doing so only took 1 hr to do (1st one half the day :rotfl:)
I made a little loop from fabric and put it between the lining and main before sewing around the top but I put it back to front so had to do a little turning and caught it up with a couple of stitches to hold it in place
I got some invisible thread from wilko's (bit like fishing wire and a pain to sew with as you can hardly see it) as it can not be seen when sorting any mistakes
Thanks, I think I might have to try one of those next!
Wow my blog has followers:T thanks guys.0 -

Im back again :rotfl:
I have finished my 2nd buttercup bag (just in time for Friday night) this one went a lot quicker and easier than my 1st and I realy enjoyed doing this one.
I used the left over fabric from the jacket and lined it with turquiose fabric from my stash because the main fabric is stretch jersey I ironed heavy interfacing to the lining and lighter interfacing to the handle and it worked out so well
I did'nt have a magnetic catch, so I made a little loop and used the pendant from an old necklace to hold the top together.

Hi!
I've been reading this thread since it was started and have been blown away by the things made.
Unfortunately my degree and disertation have consumed most of my time recently, but I need to make a (very late) christmas for a friend so I thought it was time to introduce myself.
So heres my bag- for a first make on a new machine ( I havent sewn on a machine since high school, and I wasnt that good) Im thrilled. Theres no straight lines ( I should use a measure and a pattern!) on it but shes very understanding and I love the fabric
Please be gentle! The whole thing cost me £1.49, I have enough scraps left for another project or two and it took me about 2 hours:

Hi Ashy love your bag :T I got some of those t-towels too

I only started sewing again about xmas time (last time was MANY years ago at school :rotfl:)
I am going to make a recipe holder (flat back with pockets) with my cupcake t-towels for my DIL for xmas as she loves cooking but has little room in her flat for books.
Kandi, they are from Home Barginsthey have loads of beautiful 3 pk t-towels for a couple of quid.
