I use this company quite a lot. They aren't online but have a catalogue they will send you free of charge. Once they have your order they are quite fast sending it. One thing I like is that they don't charge any delivery fee for orders over £10.
They sell a lot of haberdashery bits along with a small range of fabric and other needle/knitting type craft equipment.

Thanks everyone for the advice re stitching.
My next question .....(sorry, but Im about to make a bag with material that was quite expensive and want to get it right!)
When boxing corners I have only ever done it where you make a triangle with the materials then stitch and cut off excess fabric but Ive seen tutorials where you cut a little square from each side of the material. Which one makes the nicest finish and is it easy enough when using the second method? Ive never done it this way before but find when doing it with the triangle option it doesnt look nicely finished (unless Im doing it wrong??) Any comments would really be helpful. I want to get this bag perfect!! Thanks all. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.0 -
Morning everyone
Well I didnt get to make my bag over the weekend:( Unfortunately life got in the way!
Pootle ~ You gave me a laugh with your 40 oz wadding!:D Will let you know how I get on with new handles, hopefully this week.
Those stitch tutorials are really useful, I always make a hash of sewing limbs on my sock monkeys, so thank you for those.:T0 -

I cannot comment on the square method because I box with a triangle. I like the triangle because I often use a little stiffening at the bottom of the bag and I use the triangle to attach the stiffening.
The trick to getting it neat is first press seams before you start. (My mothers advice pin tack stitch press I used to ignore but experience has taught me she was right!). Take care to ensure that the seams (base and side) are lying on top of one another. It often helps to use a pin through the seams to make sure that they are aligned. Just poke a pin through the stitching line of one seam and make sure when you turn the bag over that it is emerging from the other seam not the main body of the bag
Lastly your triangle seam must be at right angles to the original seams.
This blog show it quite well.

The purple stitching line on this blog will be at 90degrees to the dark stitching line and you can check this with your children's set square from their geometry set or a piece of paper (use the corner). Alternatively if you have a quilters rule that will have lines that you can use.
Then you can either carefully trim of the exceess material or leave the little triangle whichever is most appropriate for the style and material you are using.
This sounds fiddly but will only take a few moments and will give you a perfectly finished corner.
Good luck with whichever method you choose.

I've made a few morsbags for shopping, but I always square off the bottoms like this as it makes filling them easier.0

Thanks Onewom. I have a cutting mat which has an angle on it so Ill try that. Just wasnt sure if this was the easiest but sounds like it is. What do you mean by attaching stiffening?
Also, if you were doing this with a bag with lining for example and concealed handles, would you box the bottom of lining and box the bottom of fabric before stitching together then just leave an opening at the bottom middle of lining for pulling main fabric through rather than leaving an opening at the end where the boxed corner is? i hope that makes sense! Ive only ever done this method after lining and main fabric attached which is why I think it looks messy inside........Thanks so much for responding. x0 -
Afternoon everyone
Hope we are all well today
Need a bit of help! I've just found THIS and I am in love. (I've also posted this on another thread to see if I can get answers)
Only one problem, I am not artistic at all! I need a pattern for the eye so I can get the buttons in the right place.
Also it says on there put the pattern between the board and the t-shirt. This won't work if the t-shirt is dark so what can I do instead??
