Made myself a fabric carrier bag last night from 2 far quarters, I used an Asda carrier bag as a template and Im quite pleased with it. The bit of material I had left over I used to make a pouch to keep it in, I can clip that inside my handbag.
Hello! i'm back and have Sooo Much to catch up on here it's rather scary! My last post was no 1501 on page 76, so it's gonna take me a while to read all your posts!
My holiday was excellent, apart from the scary landing (details of that here for the nosy: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2343185)
Kandi - your bag is excellent, i hope it's been useful? Oh, and we went to Gran Canaria - warm, pretty, good walking and swimming, great food & a good mse-style deal on the price = an excellent holidayRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. For those in the North East (you may already know of these!)
there is a quilt shop called "Quilters Cupboard" just outside durham (in Langly Moor) they have a good selection of different quilting fabrics, and put on one day classes. They are not open every day but there opening hours are on their website (http://www.thequilterscupboard.co.uk/contact-us)
Fat Quarters shop (http://www.thefatquarters.co.uk/) are just outside Newcastle and they sell Tilde products!
Dainty Supplies are just off the A1M at Washington (http://www.craftonline.biz/onlinestore/) are good for haberdashery and clothing fabrics.
In September there is a quilt show in Harrogate, which has lots of suppliers and various short workshops that you can try.
I mainly quilt, but I have made eggs from the Tilde Crafting Easter book, they go with our Easter Tree. I'm hoping to make some ducklings this year to go with them, I just need to get some more toy stuffing.0 -

Nice to have you back.
My bag has been great it goes everywhere with me in my handbag and several people have asked about it!
Loubu-Lou - thanks for the links to the North East stuff - didn't know about the fat quarters and quilters cupboard. The Fat quarters one is a short drive from where I work, could be a lunchtime session for me! Thanks :TYou can stand there and agonize........

Kandipandi, it's on the main road between Cresswell and Druridge Bay. It literally is a barn on a farm and I must have driven past it loads of times and never seen it. Found it on the internet, and was a bit put off as it hasn't been updated for ages. That is because one of the partners has been / is ill.
Worth a visit.
Maybe we could all meet there (Everyone from NE)Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Thanks I have just google mapped it, I am often at Creswell and park up not far from the entrance to that road - I'm shocked i had never seen it, it's just past where I go, just about each week!
I will definately give them a visit and a workshop would be great, I'm always keen to be shown how to do stuff properlyWould be a great place for a meet.
