I love the boxes, my daughters have open shelves in their bedroom and I bought some fabric boxes from Ikea but I like the idea of making some of my own...........some day.
I love these boxes too. Great photos everyone. Was thinking of doing one to keep all my [STRIKE]fabric[/STRIKE] tea towels in
Was going to use this tute (cant remember if it was from here or not) but I cant find any of that stuff with loads of holes in per part 2 of the tutorial (think it might be for cross stitch but not sure???) Does anyone know if you have to make them with this or if there is an alternative?
Edit: Kandipandi, I know this might sounds stupid but did you try Pets at Home or local pet shop? I saw some throws/animal basket covers the other week in one of the bigger pet stores which had cats on them (they were quite thin material rather than fluffy blankets):smileyhea0 -

Hello all, i have only just found this thread. It's strange because i've been considering starting up a little ebay business, selling some of my makes so if anyone has done this i would love you to share your thoughts. I really need to make some money and sewing is one of the few things i'm o.k at.
Here's what i whipped up on the sewing machine for my MIL fancy dress party. We went as John Wilmot and Aphra Behn. I didn't make the corset that was an ebay buy but the rest i made. My husbands waistcoat was made from a charity shop curtain for £4.50! and the rest was just cheap fabric polycottons and cheap satins.

I've also just finished a cheap polycotton skirt for my little girls multicultural day and a french flag for my boys multicultural day.
i love all the ideas on here and the links are fab!! Thank you all soo much.0 -

the plastic canvas can be replaced with anything stiff (:rotfl:), so plywood, even thick card would do, but its best to use something that wont retain a crease, if it gets squashed
however, i would think that any haberdashery that specialises in cross stitch would stock it. im sure ive seen it in places like The Range and Hobbycraft

anyhoo, i just came across all these differnet patterned skirts which are reduced to £2 each and if you get the biggest size you could get quite a bargain :T
