  • ive not ordered from them online but there is a shop in my city which i have bought a few things from, id never heard of them until about a year ago.
there clothes are a nice fit and seem right for the size. but stay away from their bras as they arent too good, tend to seperate rather than pull together! lol

I mentioned that I picked up a few remnants today from my local fabric store, their remnants range from a little scrap to a full curtain. These today were about 2 metres each and they charged me 50p each.

Well life is a bit hectic so not had the chance to finish my mums handbag. But eventually I will be catching up with everything on here. I wish I could get fabric for 50p a piece in the nearest charity shops. they have upped the prices so much. some of them wont even bother selling any fabrics etc but there you go.
I have fabric lurking around the house and it should keep me sewing for many a month yet.
Keep the photos coming, I will be catching up as soon as the children are back with thier parents. xx
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Oh thank you for all your lovely comments re my creations, it's good to have an appreciative eye cast over them - OH isn't that interested but does try to be bless him.

Kandipandi - the pattern for the trousers is Simplicity 2700. It is really quite easy (even though it took me 2 weeks LOL. Just a couple of sewing terms I didn't know but soon found out on the net e.g basting. The pattern is especially good as for each size you can pick whether you are 'straight' 'average' or 'curvy'. There are step by step instructions on how to determine what you are then how to put all the pieces together. There are mistakes on mine but not that anyone else could tell.

Knitting needle tutorial - This is the one I used. http://multicrafty.blogspot.com/2007/09/knitting-needle-case-tutorial.html

The material for the crayon/pencil roll I bought as a fat quarter from here - http://www.pelennapatchworks.co.uk/ nice and efficient and I'll use them again as they will deliver to me, some sites don't.

On the subject of fabric retailers. I have used these both too with no issues and reasonable prices.

Not having much luck either! I have loads of brand new stamps, embossing powders, embellishments, peel offs, paper etc and although I put it on at a low price there was one watcher but no-one bid. Thinking about maybe listing it individually and see what happens. I want to get rid of it all so I can make more room for my sewing stuff!

This is driving me INSANE. I have asked my husband and my MIL and for the life of me I cannot work out the instructions for the Tilda bamboo handle bag from the sew pretty homestyle book. If ANYONE has it please please can you help explain this to me in laymans terms??. The book says there are only 3 steps to making the back but the instructions and the pictures do not match up and it mentions nothing about slits for the bag which I can see are in the picture. If anyone is willing to help me I would be eternally greatful!

I am placing two peices of lining fabric right side to right side on top of two peices of outer fabric right sid eto ride side, sewing across and down the sides as in picture A. It is from that point that I am stuck this paragraph
"Fold the material and lining apart and place the two parts against each other so that the material against the material and the lining against the lining" ...Well Iv sewn the bits together that way so how am i supposed to now split them up?? as Diagram b dosnt seem to show slits in the bag so does it open? and the big picture clearly shows the slits which look sewn together nicely.

Iv posted the pictures and instructions here please help I think im going to cry!

Bless you, no you are not imagining it - if you didn't have that slit the bag would only have a very small gap at the top to stuff all your things in.

Have a look at diagram C you can see that the sides are stitched together so far up and the gap has to be left.
Sorry not brilliant explanation - but see if you can see what I mean.

thanks for the quick reply!- I can see what you mean but it dosnt explain anything about sewing those side bits on to the lining so that it makes that V shape at the side.
