23rd Hope you have a wonderful time, where are you going? (Sorry I'm so nosey!)
Made myself a fabric carrier bag last night from 2 far quarters, I used an Asda carrier bag as a template and Im quite pleased with it. The bit of material I had left over I used to make a pouch to keep it in, I can clip that inside my handbag.
My son came in when I was taking photos of the bag on a hanger and said, Mam, do you think you might have made that top a bit too small for you? :rotfl: Bless it does look a bit like a kids top.You can stand there and agonize........

I bought these other fat quartes on a whim at the craft fair the other week and they are so pretty, but I have had a bit of a mental block as to what to make with them.
I will have to scour my favourite blogs and tutorials for inspiration, but if you think of anything off the top of your head please shout up.
Im thinking the ususal, pencil cases, makeup bags etc. then I go blank. You can stand there and agonize........

Love your bag Kandipandi and your new fabric makes me want to go out and spend, spend, spend!! Particularly like the pink and blue ones in the bottom row. Lush!!
Ive had quite a lazy weekend so thought I best do something this morning. Bought a book for my mum for mothers day so decided that instead of just wrapping it up Id make a fabric envelope for it (have ooodles of my love heart fabric left so used it again!) It looks a bit squint at the fold as I havent pressed it since I sewed the button on.:smileyhea0 -
Sunshine - your fabric envelope is lovely, what a great idea to make something a bit more special. Must put that on my to do list, which seems to be getting longer and longer.
Kandipandi - the plastic carrier is a great idea, very clever to deconstruct something an make a new one. Love the new FQ's. Not sure what you could make, how are you with zips? This 'Goofy Bag' is cute http://thimbleanna.com/tutorials/GoofyBagsHowTo.html
I keep buying FQ's but can't bring myself to make anything with them incase I ruin it and they go to waste :-) I did use a couple of strips off one to [STRIKE]widen[/STRIKE] adjust a shirt at the sides, its made a boring white shirt a bit more fun."People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
Hi in-the -beach-hut Sorry have only seen your message as I haven't been on here lately. When we went to Ikea in Belfast there were lots of fabric but I was looking for childrens, so got a lovely piece with little cars, butterflies clouds and sunshine on it in lots of colours
I thought I would just start with it and see how I did before going mad and buying more. I am nearly finished the quilt but don't have a camera to post pics. Thank you for your kind words:) and I will enjoy the sewing I know once I stop being scared. You have all made such beautiful things.
Do a little kindness every day.;)0 -
