You could loop a small piece of fabric through the stitch, secure the fabric at the back and then stick the googly eye to the front fabric. :)

I made a little boxy pouch today, first time sewing with a zip ( well after I found the zipper foot).

I would like to add a photo but it says I can't, tried looking in the help, but didn't find anything. Is there a minimum post etc.

    Thanks

The photo has to be on a host like Photbox, or photobucket, then it can be copied over. the techie board can explain it properly.

I have made some of these too!!! They are for Easter gifts, I used fabric glue to put googly eyes on and they are stuck fast.

If you are into crafting etc it maybe worth getting some as mine has come in handy for all sorts of things. I got mine from here..

I have lined them as the material wasn't very strong. The material is my son's old pj top.

are there any instructions how to make the fabric envelope?

    Hi

I didnt follow a pattern so unfortunately not and not sure how good I am at explaining! I measured the book and cut 3 times its width and length plus around 1 inch for half inch seam allowance all the way round (edit: make sure you allow for the depth of the book when cutting your pieces). Cut lining same length. I then cut an envelope type shape in the top third of the material. Then stitched right sides together all way round leaving bottom end open. Turned the right way out, top stiched then stitched along the bottom to close it up, then folded bottom 'third' up to second 'third' (just below where the envelope bit starts) right sides together. Stitched along both sides then turned this section right way out. I topstiched it all just so it looked nicer and sewed on a button.

I realise this may not make any sense whatsoever so if it doesnt, let me know and if I get time tomorrow Ill try and draw a picture!!

Wow! They are fab!!! I love the size of them...are they as big as they look in the photo? Did you use interfacing or any wadding or just lining? And what tutorial did you use? (so many questions!! Sorry, but I love these!)

    Sunshine I used this tutorial:

    http://threebears.wordpress.com/2007/10/15/little-boxy-pouch-tutorial/

I think someone has posted that before. I just lined it with some old sheet, no interfacing etc. I haven't found anywhere here that sells things like that yet. I just wanted to see if I could do it. The finished bag is 3"high x 4.5"long and 2" deep.

In step 6 of the tute I ironed it flat that is why there is a horizontal crease on my top photo between blue and yellow car. For me this made it easier to line up the seam for the corner (where you are pinching it out) to the crease then I followed the rest of tute.

I bought a nice shower curtain to use as a lining. I am thinking of making these in sets of different sizes for my 3 girls. Ready for Christmas lol.
