I suppose having the rotary cutter would save me from needing to use a chalk...Just run the cutter around the pattern... Off to Ebay to have a look at some..
Is that what you use it for?

Any, the mat a rotary cutter are good for things like quilting, when you need perfectly cut squares to match up the seams, or things like bags etc. You can cut through about 7 or 8 layers of fabric at time with one so time saving too and its always straight edge and using the mat you can get the size you want. Once you get use to using them you can buy a smaller wheel which is good for cutting rounder shapes at well xx

Hi, I'm currently decorating my bedroom and have had to take the roman blinds down. I have some curtains from my previous house which I love and thought I could use those. I'm just not sure how to put the lining fabric in though, I understand how to put the dowelling rods in, it's just how to set the lining fabric in place that confuses me.
Could anyone give me any advice please? Thanks

    Hi Ladies

I've been on MSE for a while and never realised this was here.

I'm a relatively new sewer I was given my first machine for my birthday in April and I have also acquired another one since then which has more stiches. I'm currently working on the OH so that i can have an overlocker for Christmas.

I mainly make clothes for my children and am currently trying to source some daisy kingdom fabric or a similar alternative to make my little girl some dresses but it is proving very difficult it would appear that it is rarer than rocking horse ****. :-)

    Thrifty,

I normally put the lining on when I am making the curtains. I have been giving your problem some thought and have I don't know if this is possible, can you attach the lining directly under the header of the curtains, sort of sew it on the header hemm and then turn the hem of the liner to match the curtain length?

If it was me, I would be completely undoing the curtain header and sewing the liner on (attaching) and then resewing the header back in place.

I hope some of the curtain makers turn up to help you.

I have just finished cutting out my new long sundress, ready to sew tomorrow.

I am using a batik I bought years ago, on one of the trips to Texas. I will post the piccy once it is together.

I am assuming you checked Ebay? I know not everyone would think of it - but they have loads of different fabrics on there and most sellers send samples..
Some of the kids fabrics are beautiful!

Yes I did check, daisy kingdom appears to be an American thing so there isn't much of a selection. I've been trying to find a UK alternative as it specifically the fabric with a border pattern that I want for making dresses :)
