Those tops are just right for the weather we've had. They look very elegant.

Battleaxe your quilt is amazing. Lovely colours nice and cheery. The cover you have made for your pad is in one of my favourite colours.

HMO your towels are gorgeous, very neat and the cushion makes me want a bath now! The writing is very neat.

Here is my latest sewing....well embroidery.

You lot on here are really inspiring! i love looking at your makes! I have a sewing machine, which I love but have only made a few things with it, my latest two being a pairof curtains and a bag.

Can I get a bit of advice please? I have a lot of trouble cutting in a straight line, I just can't do it! Lol! As a general rule i use fabric scissors (8 pairs in different sizes) and I also own pinking shears. But neither helps!
I have heard of a rotary cutter, should I invest in one of these? Do you think It would help improve my cutting? And if yes, can you reccomend one?
And finally, how do I use it?

Carlamarie, Definitely a rotary cutter and a very large self healing cutting mat needed. Mine is an Olfa. I would be lost without it, You will also need the Omnigrids in different sizes. i can see a very good investment being made here. the Omnigrids are not cheap, but I have bought mine as I have found I needed different sizes.

I am sure the others will also help you with what they use and prefer.

a rotary cutter and mat are by far the best thing, i use mine all the time very rarely use scissors now.

get the biggest mat you can afford mine is about 35x23inches so a nice big size and my rotary cutter blade is 45mm you will also need a quilters ruler again i use a big one 6.5 x 24 inches

you can either use the markings on the ruler or the mat to line up your ruler in a straight line then you but the cutter up to the edge of the ruler apply some presser and cut.

have a look on youtube there will be loads of demos

Thank you both battle axe and Hmo. I shall start having a look online. Is there any shops you suggest?
