@Any and hmo..thank you kind ladies for your comments about my handicarft. I had forgotten at how easy things can be to make. the last few yars it hads been wedding dresses and Baning robes for the new babies in our family, all the fiddly things. to make something so simple was an absolute joy. today I am cutting out a nice long sun dress. yes I make all my own facings so it will using all the old skills I learnt. i don't think I will be so fussy as to ribbon bind the seams LOL..I will just zig zag ghe raw edges instead.

My next traditional quilt will be started on the 17 August and I keeping this one.by request from The Hobbit. i told him he could have it to use on his wheelchair when he gets old. he is 70, but thinks his body is 19, his brain wont let him be old hahahahaha.. I don't have enough hours in my day. Oh before I forget, I am also making a cover for my 7 inch tablet, finally getting around to it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi

New to this board, but been sewing and MSEing for a long time. Would just like to say there's some lovely creations on here.

I was looking for some ideas for Chistmas presents I could make for my sons (3.5 and 17 months). So far I have dressing up clothes for the oldest and a 'busy book' for the little one, but beyond that I'm not sure. They both have so many toys I wanted to cut back this year and just make them some things!

LizD I have seen a playhouse that was made, it was fantastic all the sides were different and all had lift up windows, so one side was a green grocers, another was a sweet shop etc. the women who did it also used fabric to make fruit and sweets etc. I would have loved to do it but my skills aren't that good! I can't find the blog it was on, but if u google im sure you'll come up with an idea.

Fabric cubes could be made or the youngest and teddies/soft toys obviously.

Tents can be made quite easily if you have doweling. Or even Indian tepees with bamboo canes

It's quite hard to think of gifts for boys, girls are much easier! But ill keep thinking for you

¿Can anyone help?, I am trying to finish some sewing off and for some reason the lower stitch thread on my machine is not sewing right it keeps making little loops, what am i doing wrong?

Ocemeer, it could be several things, lint in the bobbin casing aream bobbin incorrectly wound, needle might need replaceing and last but not least, threaded incorrectly. general rule is if it is looping underneath it is to do with the top of the machine (tension or lint or incorrectly seated thread through the tension discs. if looping on top it is the bobbin area. If this happens to me these are all the areas I check.

This is a cover for my 7 inch tablet. I made it in the hoop using my embroidery machine. My friend in South Africa digitized the design for me. it is lined with felt to protect the screen and the rear camera lens.

Those tops are just right for the weather we've had. They look very elegant.

Battleaxe your quilt is amazing. Lovely colours nice and cheery. The cover you have made for your pad is in one of my favourite colours.

HMO your towels are gorgeous, very neat and the cushion makes me want a bath now! The writing is very neat.

Here is my latest sewing....well embroidery.
