I was thinking about them, we have had a fair bit of rain over here lately. And as much as I love my dogs I hate wet dog smell.
Do you have a link to patterns or tute that would be really helpful thank you.Mortgage

I'm rather impressed at the lovely rose!! I think I might attempt a couple of these, when I get a migraine I pop an eyemask on and head to bed, the one I have is a bit tight (or maybe i just have a big head)

Congratulations Stardrops on the birth of Oliver... is he your first? (Sorry if you've said before). Your life will never be the same again!:j:j
Love your purses too, they look very professional.
Haven't done much sewing here, a lot of procrastinating about sewing, but none actually done. I have this morning dug out a quilt that needs quilting, it's all ready basted and backed, just need to pluck up the courage to do it by machine. I learned how to do it at my patchwork lesson last Monday, so I need to get on with it!
Also planning to make my grandson a Thoms the Tank themed quilt for his birthday (25th March). Nothing like leaving it till the last minute!:D I decided this on Wednesday, but hadn't got any Thomas fabric. So had a trip to John Lewis at Bluewater - they wanted £16 a metre! No way am I ever paying that for fabric. So I went home and looked on Ebay - I got 1/2 metre for 4.50, and that arrived yesterday. Got 2 different fabrics, but the other one hasn't come yet, Hopefully tomorrow. So then it will be all systems go.... in order to get it finished for his birthday. The one I am intending to quilt this afternoon, I started on the 2nd Saturday of March last year at a workshop: if I get it done by the 2nd Saturday this month, that will only have taken me a year! (I need to get quicker at this!).
So.... once I've got it done I'll post pictures...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Hi all, hope you had a good weekend.
Bit of a query. Im trying to make my mum a shopping bag (just like the jute ones you get these days, really basic.) Im lining it.
What Im not sure about is the handles. Do these have to be stiched to the outside or is there way to stitch in between the lining and outer fabric? I was going to leave a space when stitching outer fabric and lining together but as they will need to be quite sturdy Im not convinced that a standard top stitch will be sufficient to hold them? Cant really find any patterns etc apart from the morsebag one and the handles on that are really confusing me. Any advice would be great! Thanks all.:smileyhea0 -

Could you put right side together (lining and outer fabric) position handle where you want them remembering to have the ends facing away and the actual handle sandwiched between 2 pieces of fabric ( towards the centre), stitch all 3 pieces forming your hem. Turn right way then stitch a rectangle and two diagonals inside to make the handle stronger
Hope that makes senseMortgage

Hello ladies
I got my sewing machine yesterday and decided to make the bag organiser today!
I didnt have a pattern but I did have an idea of what I wanted and measured my smallest bag (and my purse) so that it would be the right size! For my first real sewing project I am quite pleased with myself!

I got my sewing machine out again today for probably only the 4th/5th time since I got it about 4 years ago. All I wanted to do was hem some evenweave for my next cross stitch project. The bobbin needed more cotton and do you think I could remember how to wind it on??? It took me about 3/4 hour to finally remember. I must hunt out the manual.
I'm loving all the projects you great ladies are making on this thread. Keep up the good work, you never know I might even try something myself£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
I know I am a little late but congrats Stardrops on your Grandson!
Haven't managed to do much crafting, the lastest was a bag for DH for valentines, searched all over the net for pictures of his fave album both the back and front cover, (Talking heads - remain in light, for those that are interested!) printed on the computer, ironed them on, one on either side of the bag (obviously!). He was really touched, and says he is getting lots of comments like Cool bag, etc, so I am quite chuffed!0
