I didnt have a pattern but I did have an idea of what I wanted and measured my smallest bag (and my purse) so that it would be the right size! For my first real sewing project I am quite pleased with myself!

    here it is

No apologies needed - he's totally adorable. :) And we'd all have been disapointed if you'd not posted a piccy.

Well as a test for the peg bag I wanted to make I made myself one, I made the pattern myself and it was symetrical when I drew it but I don't quite know how this turned out quite so wonky.

I think for the others I have to make I will do a more simple pattern. The rick rack was a pain in the b*m to machine stitch on and I lost my temper a few times!

OMG stardrops hes GORGEOUS! You must be beaming! im looking forward to becoming a grandparent- i have a long time to wait as my los are 3 and 1! but oh to give them back once youve finished playing with them and have a full nights sleep! (dreams)

Not to put a dampner on your idea of a grandchild, but due to my daughter having learning disabilities, I am currently caringfor my grandduaghter, aged 2. I have been for the last 13 1/2 weeks. So no full nights sleep and still get the dirty nappies and the terrible two's tantrums!!!:A

The top where the shoulders are they are miles out!
And the bottom is wonky, I was a bit fed up by then with that rick rack stuff and I was just stuffing it in and hoping the machine would pick it up :rotfl:

  • I have a George at Asda black long sleeved t-shirt which shrunk in the washing machine. I also have an old red t-shirt that's gone out of shape. I decided to make one good t-shirt out of two bad ones by cutting the red t-shirt just under the arms and sewing it to the bottom of the black one. I now have a very interesting looking black and red t-shirt which fits very nicely instead of a black t-shirt which keeps riding up and exposing my tum every two minutes. Am I pleased with myself? You bet. And it only took two minutes to do the cutting and five minutes to do the sewing.

It's lovely and doesn't look wonky at all. When I made mine I cheated and bought a baby's pinafore dress in a charity shop. After turning it inside out I sewed the bottom shut and ... ta da, two minutes later I had a peg bag.
