Congratulations Stardrops. Thats fab news (love the name Oliver!) Congrats to you too Almond.

Mooloo, your jacket is lovely! I couldnt never attempt anything like that!

    Hi to all new people.

    :)

Sunshine, it was actually quite a straightforward pattern. I made it in two afternoons. But it wasnt a lined pattern, so I made the lining up. thought it was easier to put on with a lining. I didnt put pockets on it, althought the pattern had two options for pockets.
I just removed the buttons, when I washed it in the washingmachine, and hung it on a hanger in the utility room and it dried over night. Then I just sewed the buttons back on.!
I want to make one in a few different colours for the new year, but it will depend on when I can find the right fabric. It was 2 metres of 60wide.
with 2 metres of lining fabric. But it only cost me £19 including the buttons. Which were the most expensive. But I liked them. From Hobbycraft.;)

£19!! Thats fantastic. It looks really expensive. I think the buttons are a lovely colour. They really finish it off. I still cant read patterns very well so only do those when Im in my classes so that the teacher can help me out. Im sure they are easy to understand but Im still baffled!! :(

p.s Where did you get those cute wee tags with your name on? The ones Ive been looking at are long strips of ribbon rather than for stiching into clothes?

I will have to go and look in my reference box, but I got them off of Ebay. The company sell them in lengths of 50.plus. I think I paid £2.99 fr 50. You have a line where you cut them, fold them inhalf and just stitch them into a seam.
I will come back to you with the name of them when I get the chance.
The pattern was a KwikSew pattern. Quite striaght forward, its just a case of being careful that you cut out the correct size, before you do anything. As most patterns are mulit sized these days.

Congrats stardrops on the birth of Oliver.

And your purses I love them.

This week I have made 2 dogs beds and 4 spotty cushion covers. The cushions were from a 2nd hand duvet cover I bought last year.
Quite pleased about getting the sewing machine out, but my kids never leave me alone they all want to learn something new, which is good but inconvenient sometimes...lol.

after a night stitching and drinking wine with the girls, calm has returned. good thing. and I now have a not-too-bad Tilda sleep mask. It was a simple enough pattern, and the rose was do-able whilst drinking wine, gossiping and watching the ever lovely Patrick Swayze!
