it doesnt matter make up some sandwiches of fabric and batting about at least 12x12 and practice on those, i tend to do wavy lines and circles or ovals and they dont have to be perfect. just pretend you are doodling but with a needle

Your quilting is beautiful HMO. Mine just goes all loopy underneath. I have changed the tension, looks fine when going forwards but as soon as I move the fabric backwards to do a circle or loop the underneath gets tangled up and looks a right mess.0

i dont understand what you mean you dont go backwards do you.
your machine sews one way you just move the fabric and leave the needle in the down position and pivet your work if you want to move to a new section.
make some 12x12 sandwiches and have a practice set your machine to straight stitch and medium speed to fast speed and move the fabric, when i was practicing at first i used a fabric pen and drew wavy lines with circles in and followed them just to get a feel for speed then just went for it.0 -

Yes was just going to say she makes it sound easy lol, must be the way I am doing it. When I watched someone do it on Youtube I thought when they did a circle they just had one hand either side of needle and moved their hands in a circle if you get me, rather than spinning the fabric round. I will have to watch some other ones. I googled after what was going wrong and someone had put that some machines dont like the backwards movement when doing a circle so I presumed this was what I was doing0

If you look at this video, she is moving the fabric backwards and forwards to get it to do the hearts and loops. This is when mine plays up, it doesnt like it when I push the fabric backwards.
