Winnie, that looks fine to me, you could make it into a dolly's quilt with a bit of lace round the edge. I made some of them and sold them on my stall xx

Well I have been sewing, scented hearts mostly. But did start to work my way through some old projects to get them done and out of the way.
Sold several hearts at the school last week, and 4 more yesterday.
Thanks to a post on Facebook by one of my friends.
I have been inspired to get back to the machine, and my friends are keeping me on my toes. (Or is that giving me a shove in the back?)
So I have updated my blog, and have restarted posting on my Moo Loo on Facebook.
Most of the makes have been on my personal FB page so not on view to others.
Hopefully I will also get around to updating my Website. iITs a bit dead in the water at the moment. I am just not too technically minded and get so frustrated trying to do the simplest of things.
The day is flying by and all I have done is on the laptop today. Must get to the machine after lunch.
I want to make a gift for Valentines day, so I am rather pushed for time now. Where did the last week actually go... Oh yeah, in my sewing room, or nursing DGD who is unwell.
Typical, she gets the illnesses when its holiday time. It was the same with the chickenpox over the new year.

Have a happy Valentine's Day to all of you.526386_10200492588978922_1765497454_n.jpg

it looks fine did you use a ruler and rotary cutter?

did you see the link i posted for you last week showing how to cut
  • Hi hmo yes I watched the YouTube video. I used a 6.5 inch square and a rotary cutter. I want to have a go at doing a border on it tomorrow hopefully

hi love the heart, just had a look on your blog and the little rose hearts are lovely too.

i dont do facebook and twitter they scare me for some reason and i dont know why as i am a fairly cofident type of person and use the net a lot.

do you get any sales directly from FB or is it just people mention your work and then contact you.

i used to sell stuff not sewing on ebay and did well but the monthly fees were getting so expensive so closed down my shop.

also i always get the feeling people want something for nothing on ebay but am looking for an outlet for my sewing projects

I havent had sales on Facebook before. But after a friend posted a picture of my hearts, then I got a request for the ones that are on my blog. I sold them yesterday too a local beautician for £10 for the 3 of them.
She has my card and is going to recommend me to some of her clients.
I am hoping that blogging and putting things on my Facebook page will just heighten awareness of my being here.
I have an Etsy account, and a Folksy, but I havent been using them. So its time to re think and to see if they could be worth it in the future. Its all about Keywords, and Tags, and getting viewings on your sites. And that is all above my head!
But I thought that if I put up a make most days then I will get into the habit.
I have already been invited onto another Facebook group who have a Home Counties Crafts. They are talking about having a stall in the Christmas Fayre. I have said I may be interested.
So I think I will start making things for Next christmas! eek.
Its all about finding the time to follow, blog, and post! mmmm.
I much prefer to be at the sewing machine!. :(

  • Ok I've decided to border and quilt my sample. I know it might seem a waste but id liketo practice a quilt from start to finish. I only want thin wadding so is that 2oz? Where is the cheapest place to get it?

  • Found this thread yesterday, and thanks to insomnia I caught up since the start of this year!
Can I join please? I have recently started quilting and have several on the go at the moment! I have been on a quilting course, but due to being busy at home/work I haven't finished any of them. I have started watching different parts on youtube to try to learn. the quilts I am doing are all different blocks - nothing like a challenge for starting!
Ihave seen on youtube spray glue being used as basting - has anyone any experience with this and how did you get on with it?
