I am really lucky, I put on Freegle that I wanted a dressmakers dummy yesterday and someone has just dropped one round and it was nearly my size too lol. Just had to pad it out a bit then cover with some extra stretchy fabric.
  • Thats great. I got my sewing machines off freecycle
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

Nice one. I have never used it properly before, joined it years ago but not really thought about it. I was looking on Amazon yesterday morning, there were some on there that were adjustable that were over £100 each, was thinking may be I could save up to get one but really needed one now for my dress as got no one to help me fit it. Then someone suggested I ask on there and Bob's your uncle lol. I have named her Nancy and she is now my best friend haha
  • Great name!

When I was making the wedding dresses, I named mine, Busty Burtha, for the larger size, and the smaller one (as I had the two size ranges) was called Skinny Minnie!.
I wish I had still got them now! But will the many moves that I had then were damaged and had to go. The one I have now is a charity ship buy that is a wire one. It is a bit awkward to use, but at a push its handy.

Well done Mooloo, I havent touched my Facebook page since before Christmas. Will have to get going on it before long as I have a craft fair booked for beginning of March.
  • I wish I could sew as well as you Mooloo (and the rest!) - the hearts that I tried look terrible compared to that, any tips for getting the shape sewn more accurate?
Your sampler squares are impressive winniepooh, look forward to seeing how the rest progresses.
I put the front/wadding/backing together on my table runner with some quilting and have cut out the border/edgy bit but am yet to finish it, bit nervous!

I get nervous too. Ive got some fantastic fabric to do cushions but it's making to nervous. But just remember its not the end of the world and having a seam picker helps
