Gorgeous dress and a lovely cushion too. Everyones recent makes on here are so lovely. I've wanted to post my recent makes for ages but been getting to grips with new laptop. Just posted on crochet thread and it worked so here goes, think they may be big but not sure now how to make them smaller!
So I've made some patchwork baby quilts for friends, a little patchwork name wall hanging and an appliqued cushion with a patchwork back...

this is going to sound bloody stupid.
Ive made the cushsion and the pin cushion and have turned out good, very pleased with them and using scrap fabric. Now it comes to the point of using the material ive bought to do the cushions properly and im frightened to death about cutting the fabric .
im even going to practice rail fence quilting next week (only a few blocks to see if i can do it) and im not panicking yet coming to do it properly and i know i'll be a nervous wreck.
Did anyone else worry when they first started sewing?I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!JUST LOVES THE O/S BOARD0 -

Do you use a rotary cutter? I find they give the best exact cuts.
Maybe if you measure and cut using paper a few times so you know you can get the measurements exact that might give you a bit more confidence. Good luck when it comes to it

Winnie, I have been sewing for donkeys years and still worry when I go to cut into fabric. Was cutting out YD's dress for the wedding this morning, Had pinned the pattern on but still held back for a few minutes before cutting as worrying it would all be wrong lol. They always say best to check twice and cut once rather than not check and then cut it out wrong.0
