I recently unpicked a red tartan voile dress (punk-style) because it is such a nice striking pattern but haven't decided what to make with the material

A few pages back there was chat about needle books, I have decided that a "page " of aida as well as the usual felt will be useful for darning needles

Does anyone use a pinking wheel on a rotary cutter - is it a good investment? How long do blades stay sharp?

Ive just purchased a rotary cutter as im terrible at cutting straight. But im learning how to use a cutter cause im finding that it's harder than it looks.

My OH bought me an overlocker for my birthday - well having stared at it for ages I have dived in and used it.....but i haven´t got a clue what I am doing or when to use what......
I have the instruction manual and DVD but could anyone recommend a website/book/course to try and help me get over the initial .... hmm lots of needles and threads not quite sure what its doing.
  • We chatted about fabric sample books the other day - I have been tipped off which charity shop is about to have a load donated, from a kind donor who is closing their business

Now just how many can I reasonably use? I am a hoarder who is trying to reduce my things by using up the ones I already have but know I won't be able to resist ...

That's my dilema really, I'd love to get them for people - but really if I leave them in the shop then they will get to people who want them anyway!
My eyes are always bigger than my belly when it comes to fabric
