Have a look at this Scottie Dog Pattern with gussets in places, not all the way around!

When making the gussets have you tried stay stitching the shape, and then you can clip the curves, making it easier to "bend" the fabric into the contours of the shapes that you are doing. If you need to put them into a smaller place then its a bit like easing a sleeve into its arm hole.
I have been making some more bunting, but typically today when I went to the machine, the dam thing will not keep its stitches? I have tried the usual things. Changed the needle, re threaded the whole machine top and bottom. But for some reason its still missing stitches. I cant think of anything else to do. Except clean it. So thats my mission tonight. If that doesnt work it will have to go for a service again. I will need to take out the other machine and hope that its sewing OK, as I have an order to fullfill.
I used my Making Memories Slice machine to cut out 4" shapes for the letters etc using Freezer paper. It worked much better that way, but I had to iron the Freezer paper to the front of the fabric as I dont have a programme that flips on my slice. Its rather basic. I could do with better Memory cards with more characters on them.
I tried to cut out smaller numbers, but by then the machine was starting to mess it all up and all it did was screw up the fabrics and I wasted nearly one fat quarter. Not impressed. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
