you might also benefit from a stronger needle like a jeans or leather needle but if the arm is also going wonky you may need the machine looked at.0

Managed to do several more pieces to the hand sewn patchwork on Saturday, and then yesterday I started to make some makeup bags that were in the Craftseller magazine. However although I have been a dressmaker for many many years, I still found the instructions rather confusing. So I am still not sure that I did it correctly. Have a result, but only as I guessed things in the end. I wouldnt like to be a novice reading the instructions, and trying to make them.! (Or maybe I am just rather thick?).
Time to get on, I am working in the Charity shop today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I'm almost finished relining my duffle coat... it's turning out better than I expected! I'll post before and after photos when complete.
I'd have probably completed it sooner but I got sidetracked making Obi-style belts (with some nice raw silk from a nice lady who sold 6 bin bags of fabric on ebay to me for £10) and make-up bags for Christmas presents.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Clothes Golden Rule: Never pay full price unless it is an utter bargain in the first place!
Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!0 -
DGD has been helping me sew. She had her little toy machine out and we made some embroidery scissor covers from one of my Craftseller magazines. I really am impressed with her little go. She is going to give it to her Mum for her birthday later in the month. Will try and get the photos of it for you.
Last night inspired by the wristband pin cushion, I went on to cut up milk cartons into strips and covered them with fabric and made some small bracelets for people with small wrists, like me, or children. DGD liked them when she woke this morning.
Used smallish pieces of fabric and some ribbon from my stash. Got such a stash I really need to be making more of an effort to use it up!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I love the Christmas decoration Cuddles.
I buy my felt from paper-and-string. They have a great selection of colours including blush, which might be just what you need http://paper-and-string.co.uk/category/13154-premium-felt-squares-12.aspx0 -

Sorry Cuddles (The site's nothing to do with me but I feel responsible). Actually I tried to order from there on Friday but couldn't add things to my basket, but I tried before I recommended to you and it seemed to be ok. Obviously not.
I've bought from sewsweet.co.uk before too and was pleased with what I bought but it doesn't show the colours of the felt very well.I think Tea Rose is the flesh coloured one.0 -
I made two draft excluders :j
Been saying I was going to for over a year, finally done it on Sunday. Cut the legs off a pair of thick tights, stuffed them with DH's old t shirts I cut up. Knotted the ends to hold it all in. Made a sausage shape from two different fabrics. Didn't have enough of either fabric to cover both, so used two pieces of one fabric with a single piece of the second fabric in the middle to elongate it enough. Just flat sewed the edges shut after putting my inners inside and voila! No more drafts in the living room! Can't think of anything smart to put here...0
